The unfortunate reality is, like at most narconons, there is always the story the students determine, the story the trainees are told, the stories the staff members know of and try to spin, and the story that eventually comes out in depositions,

For example, when a student starts they believe in 80% success rate.  If they become a trainee they start to figure out its a lot less but are told things like "if you don't use your drug of choice or drink it doesn't count against the stat".  Later you join staff and figure out that the greatest good for the greatest number means it's ok to lie to give people the tech, and that the person who helped you in your program just relapsed a couple months ago and lied about how long they were sober.  And then we get a deposition that says things like "almost all the staff members were drinking and doing drugs"

I'd like to hear about your experiences at arrowhead, and how much of the truth you actually figured out on your own.

It's strange the reports I've read about Gabe. I was at NNAH when he passed away. All the reports I've read are completely different than what I deduced had happened while I was there...

Can you be more specific?

Narconon Reviews report - update on the Gabriel Graves and Hillary Holten wrongful death lawsuits against Scientology front groups Narconon of Oklahoma (aka Narconon Arrowhead), Narconon International and Association for Better Living and Education

2 Narconon Death Lawsuits Settle; 1 Going to Trial
http://narcononreviews.net/narconon/2-narconon-death-lawsuits-settle-1-going-to-trial/

Tony Ortega Underground Bunker mentions the Narconon Reviews article and  our announcement here
http://tonyortega.org/2016/02/27/augustine-how-scientology-makes-it-so-hard-to-get-your-money-back/

A big   :-thanks-:to Gabriel Graves' mom, Shirley Gilliam, and the Narconon attendees and staff who joined here, posted and messagedmyself and others here to provided important information that helped in these lawsuits while also helping us educate the public about Narconon. This information also helped lead to investigations of the facility which are the subject of a wrongful dismissal lawsuit filed by Kimberly Poff,  the former Oklahoma Inspector General for Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, in her attempts to investigate.

Ms. Poff was recently deposed for all three of death lawsuits, despite Narconon's attempts to circumvent that.
You can read about her wrongful firing lawsuit here
http://narcononreviews.net/lawsuits/poff-v-state-of-oklahoma-department-of-mental-health-and-substance-abuse-services-et-al/

The OK situation is not over yet but at least Shirley Gilliam and Matthew Holten and their loved ones can move on after several years of successfully fighting Narconon in the courts. When the Stacy Murphy wrongful death lawsuit soon gets to trial, we will be reporting here as things progress and the sparks fly!

Stay tuned...

Thanks for the update, Mary.

I hope the Murphy case will make its way to a jury, but certainly understand why anyone would choose to settle. These cases take years to move through the civil courts, taking an emotional toll on families. The fortitude of people like the Desmond family, Shirley Gilliam, Matthew Holten, and the Murphy family is admirable in the face of their grief and the willful and careless betrayal they have endured.

Nearly four years after Stacy Murphy’s death, Scientology files motion to kill much of lawsuit - Tony Ortega -The Underground Bunker

Quote
It’s been nearly four years since Stacy Dawn Murphy, 20, was found dead at Scientology’s flagship drug rehab center, Narconon Arrowhead, in Oklahoma. Two other patients at the clinic had died in just the previous nine months, but it was Stacy’s death that particularly shocked local and national media, leading to a new focus on the problems at Scientology’s rehabs.

The lawsuits in those other Narconon Arrowhead deaths of 2011 and 2012, of Gabriel Graves and Hillary Holten, have been settled. But the lawsuit filed by the parents of Stacy Murphy — Robert Murphy and Tonya White — not only hasn’t been resolved, now two of the defendants in the case have asked Judge Jim D. Bland to grant them summary judgment.

Narconon International (NI) and the Association for Better Living and Education (ABLE), the two Scientology umbrella groups which license and oversee Narconon clinics, have submitted a lengthy brief to the court, asking the court to find for them without having to go to trial. They argue that Murphy and White have not been able to prove the assertion in their complaint, that NI and ABLE not only license Narconon centers but also exert enough control over them to have been liable in Stacy Murphy’s death.
