Per Wickstrom
« on: December 12, 2012, 11:33 »

I in no way am attempting to disparage this individual in any fashion, yet time and again I come across those that have had personal experiences with this gentlemen and his organization. I would love to give him the benefit of doubt as a person wanting to help his fellow man via his rehab services. Alas, I continually come up empty handed. In order to understand this individual I need to take into consideration the merit or metal of the man and the hows and whys he is where he is.

Scientology plays a major part in how this individual acts and reacts towards his fellow man! As I have learned from experience, scientology and its use within the rehabilitation industry via Narconon International lends itself to replicated behavior. Meaning as these individuals whom hold license and operate these rehab facilities must adhere to the scientology party line so to speak.

This has become quite evident as more information comes out about Narconon and the ease in which we the general public observe mirrored behavior with these facilities on a national level. It appears from research done by others each of these facilities are captained by a scientologist, hence the predictability of behavior. I have come to realize there are a very small group on players here. These same players come up in many a discussion. Those same players have helmed these facilities for some time now.

Though I dearly want to give Mr.Wickstrom the benefit of the doubt, I am seeing a tremendous amount of similarities between his operations and that of other narconons. This does not make for a comfortable feeling on my end.

I want to know as much as possible about this individual. Factual information that is. If Mr. Wickstrom or his agents would like to add to the discussion, I am more than willing to listen!

I was in the sauna with Per at Chilocco in 1998.  He was sweating profusely and scratching, snorting and grunting non-stop.  It was one of the most annoying experiences of my life!  I was also sweating profusely, but sitting calmly trying to collect my thoughts.

After that I did not have as much contact with him as people who worked with him directly, but was present at the grand opening of Stone Hawk in 2003, saw him at several Narconon Executive Director's conferences, and of course dealt with him occasionally when I did referrals for Narconon.

He is a scam artist.  He belongs in Scientology as it is the only place that makes him feel important while ripping people off - a status that he has paid seven figures for.

I have read the complaints and none of them were even similar to the experience I had at A Forever Recovery. Mr. Wickstrom’s story motivates me as a recovered addict. I have got my life back together and now I am going to back to school. Congrats to him and everyone who rises above their challenges to do great things!

I don't say this a lot, but Per is one of the people I respect the most. I think it's respectable that he picks himself back up from a rut. I think it's respectable that he is always telling those around him to impact others positively, despite all the bashers out there. He's not perfect, but he tries his best, and the post here is simply to encourage others to try their best too, no matter how low they fall.

I've met Per personally before, and I only have good things to say about this man. I'm a regular guest speaker/lecturer at Stanford University and other organizations (look me up). Would you rather listen to the person who's actually met Per and has a real face/reputation, or anonymous people who's never heard a word from Per?

You all have no idea what you are talking about. These programs are not a Narconon program. If you knew what the programs are you would know they are not a Narconon program. A Forever Recovery and Best Drug Rehabilitation are different from Narconon. You may find some complaints on RipoffReport like Mary said but you will also find more people living today because they are no longer addicted to drugs. I sent my loved ones there Mary. They became drug free from the program. Call and talk to someone there and get educated. You may not like Per...but his desire to be in the treatment industry has saved many lives. I promise you that. Too bad you all can not get to actually know him as a human being instead of sitting in judgment continuously. You might be surprised to find out he is a good person wanting to get people to live their life again.

Per has actually never ran one person through a treatment program. Did you know that? He's the entrepeneur remember? He owns the buildings and websites and his main motivation is $$$$$$. He'd rather keep the money than pay for things like, electricity, food, taxes. He'll blame it on Kate though. check out Vince Daniels....

1. Per is a scientologist.

2. Per is in the rehab business for the MONEY ONLY.

3. Per does in fact use scientology teachings within his rehabs.

4. Per DOES pay ABLE to use scientology teachings wihin his rehabs.

I don't even know where to begin to review this self promoting baloney. Readers, just google search "Per Wickstrom" and "Narconon Stone Hawk" and go to ripoffreport . com to see the multiple complaints about him, the Narconon program he made a lot of money off of (which many people got ripped off). And how he ran the place into the ground. And while there search for his latest scams, "Best Drug Rehabilitation Services" ( Best Drug Rehab Services) and " A Forever Recovery". These are Narconon programs in disguise. Narconon is Scientology. Many consistent complaints can be found on RipOffReport. You don't want to send your loved one there for sure.

Thanks for the comment, despite being unnecessarily aggressive. I understand that there are anonymous critics out there that would be delighted if I failed, but the truth is that I have every intent to do my best to save lives.

This is a business of making people stop doing what they don't want to stop on. The ones that do stop thank us at the end, but the ones that decide to not go along with our program despite our best efforts get upset and post negatively about my efforts to help the world, as well as me personally.

The truth of the matter is my story is real, and I was truly helped by Narconon. It worked for me when nothing else did. However Best Drug Rehabilitation is not a Narconon. It uses many different treatment methods, from all walks of life, all different Religions, and philosophies, which provides a holistic atmosphere meant to help an individual through the unique method that will be most effective.

I think it is much more constructive to think of better ways to help addicts if you disagree with my approach instead of criticizing, because the thousands of families that I have help mended is very real, and until the critics come up with something better, I will continue to change lives with the approach that I have seen work again and again.

Thank you.

If you were so helped by Narconon then why did you continue to use alcohol. How many times did your partner look for you when you were on a binder?

Buyer beware! Narconon is facing several lawsuits, involving a string of deaths and other incidents, in Georgia, Oklahoma, Michigan, California and elsewhere. Narconon is a scientology front group.

Great Article! I was a leader in the alcohol and other drug field for years before I retired and I reviewed over 150 rehab centers in the US and Europe. I can vouch for what Mr. Wickstrom is saying in his article. Narconon is the most effective treatment modality available. Across the board, their graduates make more significant and positive changes in their lives than any other type of treatment. Alcoholics and drug addicted persons graduate from their program believing in themselves and being able to demonstrate their strength through their work and their higher level of ethics. It is a very functional program and many, including a loved one in my family that was diagnosed by three other centers as being incurable, are doing well and thankful that they found the tools that work in repairing their lives.

All anyone has to do to know what you do and did in the past, William Kent McGregor. is to Google search your name and your history, especially as a social worker. Never paid that judgement, heh?

I see you added the IC&RC as a title. There is no such licensing by that acronym.. IC&RC stands for International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium. They IC&RC sets the internationally recognized standards for seven reciprocal credentials, NONE of which you hold.
Alcohol & Drug Counselor (ADC)
Advanced Alcohol & Drug Counselor (AADC)
Clinical Supervisor (CS)
Prevention Specialist (PS)
Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional (CCJP)
Certified Co-Occurring Disorders Professional (CCDP)
Certified Co-Occurring Disorders Professional Diplomate (CCDPD)

I see you finally stopped using the false licensing MAC title you used on the internet sometimes. Now it's IC&RC? Ha! Perhaps I shall inform them as I did with the other organizations on your false use of the MAC license.

The first step in my humble opinion in gaining information on a particular entity which is licensed and overseen by the State of Michigan,s DCH would be here.

http://www.michigan.gov/lara/0,4601,7-154-35299_63294_63302_28142-173543--,00.html

To understand how to request information on a drug and alcohol facility via FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) within the State of Michigan one should read this PDF and pay particular attention to the contact information on page 16.

https://www.michigan.gov/documents/mdch/FOIA_Policy_and_Procedure_331162_7.pdf

To request physical hard copies or a CD if offered on complaints, inspection reports etc, on a given facility be sure to state what time frame you would like those requested documents to cover. In my humble opinion that request should be made from the date the facility was licensed to operate per state guide lines to the actual date of your submitted request.
