Narconon Center Opens On Awe Inspiring Mountain Peak Atop Majestic Ojai, California

Posted: Sep 14, 2015 8:31 PM PDT
Spectacular 43-acre estate is a secluded jewel surrounded by vistas that seem to stretch forever, to provide Narconon’s acclaimed drug rehabilitation services to artists and leaders in society. The September 13 opening was made possible by generous contributions from members of the International Association of Scientologists.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 14, 2015

The exquisite new Narconon center in Ojai, California, was dedicated Sunday, September 13, offering personalized care to individuals with drug or alcohol problems. The stunning 43-acre hilltop estate’s glorious 360-degree panoramic views stretch from the Ojai Valley to the Pacific Ocean.

Narconon Ojai’s privacy, comfort and structure assist those seeking help to overcome their addiction. The facility is ideally suited to provide Narconon drug rehabilitation services, based on the discoveries and writings of Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard.

Guests arrived for a private reception followed by a grand opening ceremony officiated by the Executive Director of the Association for Better Living and Education International (ABLE). Welcoming the guests, she told them, “Today, Narconon is a global leader in drug and alcohol rehabilitation and its sole purpose is to help people lead drug-free lives. This is an era of tremendous expansion for the Narconon network and the opening of Narconon Ojai is an important step in accomplishing its mission. Step inside these doors and you enter an environment dedicated to one thing: helping people overcome addiction—for good.”

Narconon Ojai Executive Director Ms. Kathy Dion has been helping addicts recover through Narconon for 15 years. “I am sure most people here today have either heard of, or seen firsthand, the trap that ensues when someone goes down the dark road of drug addiction. But we have the answer at Narconon,” she said. “Today as we gather here on this beautiful mountaintop, often referred to as Heaven, we have a facility where we can serve people in need of a program delivered in privacy and seclusion—to restore to them the courage to face life without drugs or alcohol and remain drug-free.”

Taking the stage was longtime Narconon supporter Ms. Kelly Preston—who has for many years dreamed of having a Narconon as perfectly suited to artists as this one is. She expressed the significance of this day when she said, “Year after year we are losing our artists and colleagues we’ve worked with—often at too young an age. To make the tragedy even more distinct is the fact that we do have the solution that could have turned those lives around. We just haven’t had the location to deliver it. Until now. You don’t have to ‘always’ be a drug addict. You don’t have to ‘always’ be an alcoholic. That’s a lie. Our program works. And you can have a new life.”

With its secluded and aesthetically arresting locale some 85 miles northwest of Los Angeles, Narconon Ojai provides a unique drug rehabilitation program to those seeking to overcome their addiction. Narconon staff are on hand to assist with 24-hour help to ease the difficult transition off drugs and see that those participating in the program take away the tools to lead successful drug-free lives.

For nearly 50 years, Narconon has saved the lives of countless individuals who were thought lost to substance abuse forever. Its mission is to provide an effective path for drug abuse rehabilitation and to assist society in reversing the scourge of drug abuse worldwide.

Narconon addresses those in the program as “students” rather than “addicts” or “victims,” and its sole purpose is to give people the tools to get off of drugs for good and live lives free of all narcotics. Every detail is considered to give students the stability and comfort they need to help free them from addiction and rebuild their lives without drugs.

The Narconon program begins with a drug-free, nonmedical withdrawal process designed to assist the individual in kicking a dependence on drugs as rapidly and comfortably as possible. It is followed by a distinctive method of detoxification, specifically geared to help drug users eliminate the residues that drive cravings while at the same time supporting the body with supplements. The final component of the program is a series of Life Skills Courses that furnish students the tools needed to remain drug-free throughout their lifetime.

Harnessing the power of audiovisual tools to bypass literacy barriers and increase understanding, 23 instructional films in 29 dialects and languages have been created for the various parts of the Narconon program.

The grand opening of the incomparable new Narconon Ojai was made possible by generous contributions from members of the International Association of Scientologists. It is the fourth in a series of model Narconons opened over the past two weeks. Continental Narconon Europe and Narconon United Kingdom opened Saturday, September 5, and just yesterday was the dedication of Narconon Latin America in Mexico—serving the 21 nations of Latin America.

Narconon centers operate today in some 23 countries on six continents. For more information, visit http://www.narconon.org.

OT VIII Kathy Dion works with Narconon.

For someone that just reached the top of the Scn Bridge, she sure says a lot of nothing.

Subject: New OT VIII Success Story! From: Kerensa Whitman, Bridge Control Sec FSSO
Date: Fri, 12 Mar 2010

Dear Scientologist,

Here is this week’s New OT VIII success story for you.

Let me know how you like it, and what decisions you have made about your own Bridge progress after having read it!

”There is a beauty to this level that I had not expected nor anticipated. Not only does it address amnesia on the whole track, but it has given me an ability to create that I did not know existed.

I have discovered the higher levels on the tone scale that I only had glimpses of before. My attention is in the future, unlimited and unrestrained to create a safer, saner space for my dynamics.

Doing a lot of the Basics on the Freewinds helped tremendously. There is something here that is so theta, it allows you to study faster and absorb the materials for application. The secrets to life are there for us to just apply!

Working in the Narconon network I will continue to save lives with this invaluable tech LRH gave us. And take home a new viewpoint with new abilities to bring about even more productive members of society.

Thanks so much to the incredible staff and crew of the Freewinds. The sups are the best, my hats are off for this incredible team. Thanks to my C/S! Thanks to RTC and COB for their undying persistence and care to ensure LRH’s tech stay pure!

I am once again in awe, with much love and admiration to LRH! Thank you Ron!” – Kathy Dion

If you know of any one else who should or would like to receive these successes, please write me back and let me know.

Sincerely,

Kerensa Whitman
Bridge Control Secretary FSSO

I'm sure some lawyers will be interested in that letter!

I couldn't find a California registration for "Narconon Ojai", the name on their site, so I went looking. This is probably the real one:

Entity Name:   NARCONON PACIFIC COAST
Entity Number:   C3598355
Date Filed:   08/28/2013
Status:   ACTIVE
Jurisdiction:   CALIFORNIA
Entity Address:   PO BOX 1509
Entity City, State, Zip:   OJAI CA 93024
Agent for Service of Process:   LURIA K DION
Agent Address:   201 E OJAI AVE
Agent City, State, Zip:   OJAI CA 93024-1509

Luria Dion is also president of Narconon Western United States.

No charity hits for either name.

Legal Name NARCONON PACIFIC COAST
Program Name NARCONON OJAI
Facility Address 9950 SULPHUR MOUNTAIN ROAD
Facility City OJAI
Facility State CA
Facility Zip 93023

That's a tiny capacity for a place like that -- under the radar. Premium prices, no doubt.

Looking at the IRS Exempt Organization listings, there seems to be some 'smoke and mirrors' going on with NN Ojai, since there are now two EIN's with a DBA of "NARCONON OJAI" in the listings.

First you have EIN 651238009, which was NN Western U.S. becoming NN Ojai:

12/14/15 EO Listing:
EIN: 651238009
NARCONON INTERNATIONAL
200 N MARYLAND AVE STE 101 GLENDALE CA 91206-4275
2595
03
9
F20Z
NARCONON WESTERN UNITED STATES

Magically becomes:

04/11/16 EO Listing:
EIN: 651238009
NARCONON INTERNATIONAL
200 N MARYLAND AVE STE 101 GLENDALE CA 91206-4275
2595
03
9
F20Z
NARCONON OJAI

Then we have EIN 463559503, NN Pacific Coast also undergoing the same metamorphosis:

12/14/15 EO Listing:
EIN: 463559503
NARCONON INTERNATIONAL
249 N BRAND BLVD 384 GLENDALE CA 91203-2609
2595
03
9
NARCONON PACIFIC COAST

Now becomes:

04/11/16 EO Listing:
EIN: 463559503
NARCONON INTERNATIONAL
9950 SULPHUR MOUNTAIN RD OJAI CA 93023-9374
2595
03
9
NARCONON OJAI

Confusing, isn't it? Which I suspect is the general idea.

The question is, did NN Pac Coast just do a DBA change? Which would legally leave the EIN the same. Or did they start a whole new corporation for NN Ojai? In which case a completely new EIN should have been obtained, because they are not transferable to a new corporation.

There's a 2014 Form 990EZ for 46-3559503. (Yet another Roland Fink production.)

There isn't much in it, but that was before it opened and they'd owe rent to SBPI.

Hmm. "Tina Holliwell" on Narconon Pacific Coast, "Tina Hollowell" on Narconon WUS. Thank you Roland Fink!
