I write a blog about Scientology https://scicrit.wordpress.com/ Not having the money to pay for Gb of server space I used the cloud service 'Mega' to store downloads. Scientology has complained to Mega (on copyright grounds) and 18 files have been taken down (almost all from the category of 'Secret Scientology Texts and Media' https://scicrit.wordpress.com/secret-scientology-texts-and-media/

These include Scientology's 'security' checklists, the blue, green and red volumes, OT levels, the Assists Handbook (which includes the tragi-comic 'bring back to life assist) the Hard Sell Pack Rons' audio account of 'the wall of fire' and 'Revolt in the Stars'.

Think about that: Scientology, which claims to be religion, is so afraid of what the general public might
think if they can read Scientology doctrine, that they use copyright claims to prevent you reading it. It's rather like Christians trying to suppress all knowledge of the doctrine of the Trinity outside of the Church. What is
Scientology afraid of?

It seems to me that they have revealed the very material that they are most afraid that the public should become aware of, and it would be a shame not to press this advantage.

I still have the files, and I don't intend to fold. .. can anyone please suggest a cloud service out there which is less amenable to takedowns, or some other form of work-around?  Not having the money to pay for Gb of server space I used the cloud service 'Mega' to store downloads. See if they're already on Wikileaks:
https://wikileaks.org/wiki/Category:Scientology

and if so, link to them there.  Otherwise, submit them:

Generally speaking, free hosting sites are not going to fight for you.  A great many paid hosting sites will not either.

I found a few of the affected files on wikileaks, and the posts which discuss them already link to that site. I just like to provide a direct download as well, in case something goes wrong with a link (or the site).

The rest are no longer available from their original sources, and I can't find any other links so a direct download was my only option.

Offering these to Wikileaks is, indeed, a viable option - thanks for the suggestion. I just wish I could think of something which gave me more control...

That's perfectly understandable, considering the way things are removed from the web, whether for nefarious reasons or because the site owner just takes their own site down (or in the case of articles, they go behind a paywall).  You might look here also: http://www.tep-online.info/laku/usa/reli/reli.htm#sci and here: http://www.exposescientology.com/

You're welcome.  Unfortunately, control often means spending money.  And in the case of copyrighted material, even money usually doesn't help.  There's a reason we don't host the Narconon course books here.   ;)

Scientology puts people between a rock and a hard place when they choose to discuss the "scriptures" (gag).  If you quote parts under fair use, they will say you've taken it out of context.  Then when you provide the context, they will have it taken down for copyright infringement.

Thanks for the suggestions. I now have a number of options, and will keep trying, and see what happens.

The worst thing that can happen, after all, is that more people become aware of the very things that the CofS is trying to suppress (and download their own copies, which they can distribute) while we play 'hide the file'.

All of the downloads on my blog are restored now, in a more-or-less robust form - please see my new post at https://scicrit.wordpress.com/2015/04/24/new-links-to-scientology-doctrines-that-the-church-is-so-ashamed-of-that-it-tries-to-suppress-them/

Thank you for your advice - and especially those two links - I didn't have much time to look at the sites today but I will in due course.

Thanks for letting us know, scicrit.

These copyright legal responsibil;ities and issues are important to understand when one has a blog.
