suncoast rehabilitation center

Was just on Yahoo and saw their site.  I decided to take a look.  No mention of the narconon program until the faq section.  They advertise the program aligns with CBT, they provide counseling and that the program is not religion based.  Who do I contact to make formal complaints about false advertising?
ET went home.

If the ad originated in the US, deceptive advertising complaints are filed with the FTC:
https://www.ftc.gov/faq/consumer-protection/submit-consumer-complaint-ftc

If you know the state, most states also have a deceptive advertising complaint system.

There is some information about the Suncoast Narconon at the City of Clearwater permit site:

https://epermit.myclearwater.com/citizenaccess/default.aspx

It appears there are 30 beds.

We have another ongoing thread on this facility with photos and  more details started by Rod Keller.

It included building permit docs ( at least valid through July 2015 ) and planning info

That thread should be merged here

I just added a link back to this one into that one.  Merging will make both threads more confusing to follow since the dates intermix the way they do, and Narconon is confusing enough as it is.    :)

I inquired of the State if Narconon Suncoast had a license at their facility.  What made me ask was I never saw anyone outside the facility, even though they have lots of walking paths and now outdoor furniture near the entrance.

The reason no clients are there is that they do not have license, in spite of the fancy grand opening they had a couple of weeks ago.  Here is part of an e-mail I received:

"The Department of Children and Families Substance Abuse and Mental Health Program Office has received an application from Narconon Suncoast for licensing of their facility located at 1390 Sunset Point Rd., Clearwater, FL 33755. The SAMH Program Office is in the process of reviewing their application for licensure. I hope that this information can be of some assistance to you. If I can be of additional assistance, you can reach me at 813-523-5229 or via email at  nekesha.nash@myflfamilies.com.

Sincerely,

Leave it to Narconon/scientology to have a grand opening where they don't actually open.    :O)o

They're redefining words again; they do that a lot.

Here's an email I received updating NN Suncoast's license.  It says they have a probationary license.  I emailed back asking what restrictions were on a probationary license, but have not yet received a reply.  Just an aside, this is first time I've ever seen the complimentary closing "professionally".

"Narconon Suncoast was issued a Probationary License that was effective November 23, 2015.

I hope that this information can be of some assistance to you. If I can be of any additional assistance, you can reach me at 813-523-5229 or via email at Nekesha.nash@myflfamilies.com.

It was mentioned in todays TonyO 'Underground Bunker' post that these bottom feeders are targeting veterans and military people and their families. And sure enough, found this on their web page:

Quote
Veterans make up a large percentage of individuals who suffer from addiction. Narconon Suncoast is now offering a 30% Discount off all program services for Military personnel and their families. Don’t let them suffer in silence.

Full ad can be seen at:  http://www.narcononflorida.org/news/helping-veterans-and-their-families/

"Heads up" 'poons are cocked and loaded to go out to VFW, American Legion, and other military associations, as well as appropriate DOD medical organizations about this scam. If the info is available, I'd like to know what, if any, restrictions apply to their "probationary license" before pulling the trigger. If it's still unknown, I'll go with what I've got.
