LA County appears to have a new'ish online search website setup now that is free:The problem is that they don't say who the name belongs to, and I want to track names that CoS has been flipping around for years. (It's one of their ways for pulling fast ones by shifting ownership of a name between various entities.)
Solution: Under the California Public Records Act, "Fictitous Business Name Statement" documents should be obtainable: http://www.lavote.net/contact-us/public-records-act-requests/make-a-public-records-act-requestWANTED: a list of Fictitious Business names to file on. Here's a starting point:

Can anyone come up with other FBNs I missed?
Partial name searches I ran to gather the above list: Scientology, Scientologists, Religious Technology, Spiritual Technology, World Institute, Narconon, Halcyon Horizons, Criminon, Applied Scholastics, Delphi. IHelp & I=Help, Hubbard College, Way to Happiness, Truth About Drugs, Volunteer Ministers, Youth for Human Rights.
I also tried Fresh Start and Second Chance but the results were so broad it didn't look like anything was definitively cult related.
