They all look interesting, though I've heard the Fast and the Furious series has been weak on story, though all about the flashy cars.

Otherwise I'm looking forward to all those!

And "Year One" though I don't think it comes out this summer.

Not much into any of those listed here so far, alas, with the possible exception of X-Men (WOLVERINE!).

The ad for "Push" looked interesting, though.

I also wanted to see "Coraline (3D)," Watchmen" and so on. I don't think Anons liked "The Spirit" as much as they'd hoped; I was OK with the cartoony nature of it, and enjoyed it, but it really was kind of a C+ / B- film overall.

Is "HP:HBP" coming out this summer? So soon?! Didn't know that.

I've been grubbing up used DVDs for cheap when I can afford it. Just saw "Sweeney Todd." (Three dolla, and I keep it nao!) Hmmm. I liked it OK, but would have been PISSED to pay $20+ for ticket, snax and gas if I saw it in a theatre. :P

A great mind teaser movie:  The Prestige.  You can find it at your favorite video rental store.

Pat on the back if you figured out how the magician played by Hugh Jackman did his big trick before the movie reveals it. [I did 8) ]

Pat on the buttocks if you figured out how the magician played by Batman did his big trick before the movie reveals it.  [I didn't  :( ].

I had a chick flick moment

I like Julie and Julia  and I hated time travelers wife.  I think I was the only girl not to cry in the theater during traveler.  However, J and J was pretty fun.

Anyway I want to see:

I can do bad all by myself:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHJTHAbTKkw

Inglourious: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sQhTVz5IjQ

Meatballs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OP9wtdwgeok

anyone else seen anything or looking forward to anything

I'm almost afraid to admit it, but the trailer made it look like Julie and Julia has some fun moments.  I might save it to rent, though.

I definitely want to see Inglorious Basterds!

Otherwise, I have a short list growing for 2010.  I'll talk about those when the time comes xD

I had a good friend recommend J & J.

I owe someone a movie! You know who you are. Sadly, I haven't been to many lately.

The Sherlock Holmes thing is either going to be great or cringeworthy.

I really hate going to see movies in theatres these days thanks to all the rude people who don't know how to be polite and quiet during a film that costs a hell of a lot to pay to see.

I completely agree about Sherlock Holmes, Lorelei.

And about theater goers: some low points were that one time a guy was yelling to the characters in the movie; and always when people bring out their cell phones to text.  It looks like a small skyward-pointing blue spotlight saying "THIS IS WHERE THE OBNOXIOUS PERSON IS SITTING!"

I will probably have to see Sherlock Holmes. I really hope it is not cringeworthy.

I guess I have been pretty lucky in the movies, lately. People seem quiet.

I think it helps if you go late at night on a weekday a few weeks after opening day for a particular movie. The worst times to go are weekend nights (rife with feral teens who have not been properly brought up to not be total asshats in public) and matinees (which usually have an impromptu Crying Baby With Rude Parents contest, where screaming infants compete to see how long their parents will make other theatre-goers endure the sounds of a wailing child before removing said child from the theatre, or small traumatized children dragged to inappropriate R-rated films by stupid parents or older siblings who are too cheap to hire a babysitter or incapable of telling kids too young for R movies that they can see them when they are old enough, but not right now, or bored kids dragged to films that hold no child appeal at all, which encourages the poor child to find other things to do (while their parents are too busy watching the film to be paying attention to them), such as running up and down the aisles, chattering loudly, throwing food, whining that they are bored, opening the doors in the back of the theatre to let light in over 9000 times, squeezing past rows of people over 9000 times, whining that they want more junk food or that they need to go to the bathroom (again) or crawling under / kicking the back of your seat).

With my oddball schedule, I find the best time to go see a movie at the theater, for the incredibly rare times I'm so inclined, is early afternoon, particularly on a weekday. Most everyone is out doing their thing (work, school, etc), resulting in not a lot of people in general, and not a lot of douchebags in particular.

That, and I don't want to pay evening prices, being a cheap bastard. :P

And as for the door thing, the theaters here have a doglegged path from the theater entrance to the actual floor itself, and curtains on the walls lining that passage to keep from providing reflecting surfaces. End result: opening the door to the outside doesn't interfere with the movie.

Don't take my curmudgeonly grumblings too seriously. Sometimes I exaggerate a minor peeve into a geezerly fist-shaking rant for the LULZ.

I think it is the fact that we have to pay money to be around other people who are not polite that irks me more than anything. If I have to pay a mint, I don't want to miss any of the movie due to rude folks. If it is cheap-as-free for me, I am a little more relaxed.
