Katie Holmes has influenced the designs for a new range of Church of Scientology uniforms, according to reports.

The 30-year-old wife of Tom Cruise – who is gearing up for her Holmes & Yang fashion launch in Los Angeles next month — has apparently helped inspire the new Richard Tyler creations.

“The scarlet-lined black capes with skirt and trouser suits are almost identical to the sort of clothes favored by Tom and Katie, if a little more vampire-themed,” a source told Britain’s Mail on Sunday newspaper.

“They gave the new designs the thumbs-up, along with church leader David Miscavige who had overall approval.”

Of course, it's then fluffed out with not-so-related stuff.

It was recently claimed that Tom and Katie — who raise adorable daughter Suri together — had come to blows over their plans to have another baby.

“Katie saw a fertility expert earlier this year who told her that because she’s been trying for another baby for over a year, they ought to think about IVF,” a source said.

“But the Scientologists have waded in and said: ‘No way,’ because it’s against their practices.

“Katie’s tried what they’ve suggested, going on grueling detoxes. But Scientology’s always the problem — otherwise she and Tom would be blissfully happy.”

I wonder if those grueling detoxes are keeping her from getting pregnant?  I hope they don't cause her permanent harm.

Yep. Those detoxes would not be helpful for getting pregnant, me thinks.

Being underweight can lead to trouble getting pregnant. It also may increase your chances of giving birth to a low birth weight baby. These babies are not easier to deliver and often have problems during labor and after birth.

To reach a healthy weight before pregnancy, it helps to plan your diet. An average woman needs about 2,000 calories per day. Eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole-grain products each day. Drink fat-free or low-fat milk and other dairy products. If you already have a good diet, it is easy to make changes during pregnancy to get the extra calories and nutrients you need.

Folic acid can help reduce the risk of neural tube defects in the fetus. The neural tube is formed very early in pregnancy, usually before a woman even knows she is pregnant. Therefore, all women of childbearing age should take 0.4 milligrams of folic acid daily (see box). Folic acid is found in foods such as leafy dark-green vegetables, citrus fruits, beans, and enriched breads and cereals. However, it is hard to eat enough of these foods to meet the requirement. For this reason, doctors advise women to take a daily folic acid supplement or a multivitamin that includes folic acid.

Tell your doctor about any herbal products, vitamins, or nutritional supplements you take to promote health. Even certain vitamins can be harmful if taken in excess. For instance, vitamin A in doses more than 10,000 international units per day has been shown to cause severe birth defects if taken during pregnancy.

But...  but...  but, Ron said it was good.   

Seriously, there are so many things that Hubbard advocated as being good, which are actually harmful, both to body and mind.  The purification rundown, the barley water formula for babies, rice and beans (the perfect protein), and then there are all the mental exercises that entrap a person mentally.  There seem to be a lot of nutritionists who are scientologists, whether they hold degrees or just proclaim themselves as a nutritionist,  I don't know - you would think some of them would have something to say about these Hubbardian myths.

I don't think Katie really thought this through very well before she married Tom.
