There have been a number of celebs who left Scientology over the years (Karen Black, Stanley Clarke, Al Jarrau), but Jason Beghe is the only one I know of who left and spoke out. I hope John Travolta follows in his footsteps.

Wow, Karen Black left?  I didn't know that.  Now I don't have to feel guilty about having liked her in the movies "Day of the Locusts" and "Nashville."

To be honest, I hope they all follow in Jason Beghe's footsteps, but John Travolta would be a good start.   :)

The late George Reeve, the actor who played Superman, gave Scientology a try. According to him, he had doubts about the Electropsychometer as a way of determining true thoughts or feelings. So he went into his next auditing session with a prepared fantasy borrowed from Bullfinch's Mythology. Sure enough, he got a floating needle, and the poor, undereducated, auditor never noticed anything amiss.

It likely will surprise no-one here that Mr. Reeve left the Celebrity Center that day, and never went back. And he apparently told this story to more than a few folks before his unfortunate riding accident, and eventual passing. I think this counts as speaking out, perhaps not as a big public thing, but every drop of truth disseminated is an addition to the cleansing tide which will eventually wash away this science-fantasy cult!

'til next time;
