Some affidavits you may not have seen
« on: April 26, 2010, 20:26 »
Ray Hill has posted a link to some old affidavits to ARS:
http://www.naderlibrary.com/Scientology%20Exhibit%20-%20IX%20Fiche%201-4.pdf

This PDF contains 16 testimonies within the 196 pages; all appear to be from the early 80s, probably compiled for a trial by attorney Michael Flynn.  At least one of them hadn't been published online in text form, until now.

They are by:
James Gervais
Lucy Garritano
Steve Garritano
Peter Graves
Anne Rosenblum
Tonja Burden
La Venda van Schaick
Robert Kaufman
Janet Troy
Ernest Hartwell
Adelle Hartwell
Thomas Jefferson
Edward Walters
Marjorie Hansen
Silvana Garritano
Anonymous

Thanks for digging up this historical document, Mr. Hill!

The Nader Library has some other interesting scientology-related information too: http://www.naderlibrary.com/

It's probably my browser's PDF reader acting up, but I keep getting "document is damaged and can not be recovered" pop-up alarums.

Will try on another browser after a reboot to see if that sorts things out.

You can also right click to download it (I think, depending on your browser), and then open it manually with Acrobat.

I chose to download it, yes. Got sucked into Molly Ivins' bbok, Bill of Wrongs, at the Nader Library and had to read it all, forgot to update my gripe with my solution. :)

I know...I am going to be there a while before I move on to the affidavits, which will no doubt fill me with anger towards the cult's abusiveness all over again. It's good to be angry about something else once in a while, however. :D

No doubt, there is plenty to be angry about besides the cult.

It's also good to forget about the anger-making stuff once in a while too (not directed at you Lorelei, just speaking generally).

Agreed! My default emotions tend to be more sanguine than not. A little outrage does me good now and then.
