Scientology Celebs Are Clear About Kids' Private Schools - TakePart

When Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes decided to send their five-year-old daughter Suri to school, they chose New Village Leadership Academy (NVLA) in Calabasas, California.

Founded in 2008 by Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, NVLA is a private school with an annual tuition of about $12,000. 

Though described on its website as a “co-educational secular day school,” NVLA has many ties to Scientology, including employing numerous faculty and staff who are Scientologists, as well as favoring an instructional methodology called “Study Technology” developed by Church of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.
