Scientology and Freedom of Religion
« on: September 20, 2009, 19:15 »
JustBill, of the Ask the Scientologist blog, has given an excellent explanation of why the scientologist continually carry on about their "Freedom of Religion."  As he explains, the scientologists are not operating on the same definition as the rest of us.

In another thread, we have discussed the use of specialized language and how it facilitates keeping a cult member entrenched within the group they belong to, and isolated from the rest of society, but Bill gives us a concrete example of how this works.

This is particularly relevant to the situation in Sandy Springs, and sheds some light on how the scientologists think they could win a RLUIPA case, when no one else sees the applicability of the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act to the zoning issues.

Bill's blog post, and a link to his insightful blog, are here: http://forum.reachingforthetippingpoint.net/index.php/topic,913.msg3310.html#msg3310
