Well, in short, Criminon's recidivism stats are false. They do not have non-Scilon peer review of their methodology. Their treatment methods are scientifically unsound and dangerous, and their "therapy" routines are lifted from Scientology's recruitment course series.

The "glowing testimonials" one sees about Narconon, etc., are typically Scientologists using pseudonyms to spam the 'net with free advertising for the cult's front groups. testimonials from real former "guests" at these centers are coerced, not voluntary: the guests are not considered graduates until they produce these statements. If satisfying a judge's orders to graduate / pass a treatment routine is required, guests will write one, simply to complete the course.

It is worth looking into Second Chance and Narconon online, to get the big picture. Criminon is the same as these; it is just another name for the same stuff.

the good news is that Mad Kow told me that the Criminon program faded into nonexistence there.

Otherwise, that is the only explanation I've found about why it's no longer turning up in searches.

New name, same old scam. I suspect Criminon has been absorbed by Narconon and Second Chance, particularly the latter,

So far, all I find for Second chance in Alabama are a school in Montgomery with no staff or other contact info posted, and a sort of half-way house sponsored at least partially by United Way.

This lends to hope, at least a little :P

IIRC, it was in Phoenix, AZ, that Second Chance (a Sci front group operating like Narconon / Criminon) failed to pay their bills for months, recruited from the nearby halfway house, and vanished in the middle of the night, their con and ex-con guests left in locations unknown, with everything not bolted down, including appliances like the dishwasher.

You may want to verify that with AZanons or on WWP.

You are right Lorelei. There is no peer reviewed research studies or literature that supports the treatment modalities utilized by Narconon/Criminon.  Deceptively, Criminon/Narconon never reveals their Scientology connection up front.
