Bush chosen as chief of JFS - Youngstown Vindicator

Forty-five people applied for the position of director of Mahoning County’s Job and Family services Department. Mahoning Commissioners picked Atty. Robert E. Bush Jr. to fill the seat.

Melissa McCormick of Canfield, withdrawal specialist, Narconon Freedom Center, Albion, Mich., was one of the candidates.

Fortunately, she was not appointed:

Mahoning County commissioners tapped the chief of the prosecutor’s office criminal division from a field of 45 as the new director of the Department of Job and Family Services.

Commissioners unanimously appointed Atty. Robert E. Bush Jr. at a meeting Thursday.

Bush also previously served as police chief of Youngstown and its law director. He ran unsuccessfully for mayor in 2005.

He will replace Judee Genetin, who earned $100,896 when she left last month to become Portage County JFS director. George Tablack, county administrator, said Bush’s salary will likely be the same as Genetin’s.

5:01 p.m. - Following a traffic stop on Market Street, Melissa M. McCormick, 25, 260 Bradford Drive, Canfield, was arrested for OVI and possession of drugs.

7 months from arrest to "withdrawal specialist" - sounds about right, for Narconon.  Can't blame her for wanting a better job, though.  I hope she got the help she needed.

Oh, sure. Who knows what her other qualifications may be? A director position for a county family and children's services department might be a bit ambitious and troubling.
