Canada Drug Rehab Centers: Beware Of False Success Rate Claims
Misleading Drug Rehab Success Rate claims, lure unsuspecting and vulnerable patients into Narconon Rehab Centers. These claims of a 70% - 76% success rate, and even higher in some Narconon Centers are misleading and false. Buyer Beware!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PRLog (Press Release) – Oct 14, 2010 – The Narconon Program is entirely based on the writings of L. Ron Hubbard and controlled by ABLE Canada, Narconon International, and the Church of Scientology. This program is advertised as secular when in fact it is based entirely on Scientology religious and cult doctrines.

I was employed at Narconon Trois-Rivieres as a Course Room Supervisor, as a Registrar, as IC Foundation (“In Charge of Building a new Charitable Foundation”), and my last Post before resigning was Graduate Officer.

During my employment, I noticed that the advertised and promoted “success rate” of graduates from this rehab program, was far below the marketed seventy to seventy-six percent (70%-76%) rate.

All of my examinations and calculations indicated that the advertised and promoted success rate was far below 70%. In fact it was approximately 46% using Narconon’s own computer data. This 46% success rate represents post graduates only and does not take into account the patients who did not complete the program. It also does not include post graduate staff members who relapsed, which were several in the past two years. When taking the aforesaid into account, the Success Rate falls far below 20%.

The high “success rate”, which every Narconon in the world claims, is what I consider the key to Narconon’s ability to make money and fill Scientology’s coffers. It is this advertised and promoted high success rate, which lures the unsuspecting and vulnerable public into this Narconon program of exploitation. These people have a high expectation of success, which is clearly a misrepresentation.

The Quebec Ministry of Health and Social Services and the Quebec Ombudsman are keeping a “close” watch over this organization, as stated in two recent newspaper articles. In my opinion, there are definite health risks and dangers to patients who attend this facility.

Quote from March 22, 2010 Newspaper article:

".....Just days after the publication of statements made by David Edgar Love, a former patient who became an employee and is now speaking out against certain methods used by the centre, the Mauricie Health and Social Services Agency [Agence de santé et de services sociaux de la Mauricie] said it will be keeping an eye on Narconon....."

The Church of Scientology in Canada is a convicted criminal organization and it has clear influence over all the affairs at Narconon Trois-Rivieres, Narconon Canada, ABLE Canada, and Narconon International.

One Health Board recently stated:

"No scientifically well-controlled studies were found that documented the safety of the Narconon program. There are potential dangers from the use of non-medical staff who may be unable to interpret the possibility of seizures, delirious, cardiac arrhythmia, or hallucinations that are phenomena associated with the cessation of drugs. There is also a potential risk of the reported reexperience of the abused drug effect during the sauna sweat out program may be the result of misinterpreted symptoms of hyperthermia or electrolyte imbalance. Moreover, the multiple findings of fact heretofore entered by the Board establish that Narconon's program is not safe.

Not only are their success rate claims false, but vulnerable patients easily fall prey to these statements when they search for help online. Narconon has many hundreds of websites which lure people in by claiming and publishing their 70% success rate claims on the web pages. These ill and vulnerable people become vicims and are exploited.

If you are seeking help for your addiction to drugs or alcohol or seeking help for a loved one, do your research first. Google: Narconon Exposed. Talk to your own personal physician and be open and honest. Inform him that part of the Narconon Program is entering a Sauna at high temperatures for 5 hours every day for weeks on end, taking doses of Niacin as high as 2,600mg to 5,000mg in one single dose. These dangers will be covered in a future story.

Many people become ill and rushed to local hospital emergencies for care.

There are no doctors, nurses, or any professional, certified medical care worker at Narconon and the dangers are evident.

There are ongoing investigations in Canada concerning Narconon, including Health Canada, Human Rights Commission, Labour Relations Board, Quebec Health and Social Services, and other pending government complaints and inquiries.

Buyer Beware!

Other News Websites are picking it up already:

When people type in Google search for: narconon or canada drug rehab centers, it should this news story should pop up in the thick of the Narconon websites.

When I was at Narconon working with the website tech staff, they showed me which key Tag words they used to be as close to the top of Google as possible. They often use, "canada drug rehab.....', so I try to use same Tags :-)

Thank you so much for posting your experience. Many of we the general public have for quite some time felt this organization (NarCONon International) was and or is operating under fraudulent auspices. What really is disturbing in my opinion would be along the lines of the lackluster involvement on the state/local and federal level.

Here we have an entity (NarCONon International) which has had or currently is having multiple complaint and lawsuits lodged against it. Would not this raise a red flag for some government oversight entity or individual?

There is quite a bit of information on narCONon International I am not up to speed on when it comes to the use and licensing of Hubbbards so-called treatment for those with drug addictions on a state by state level from a business perspective. Meaning the stand alone narCONon rehab operator or franchisee.

Are the individual rehab centers legally responsible for their individual operations or do they answer to narCONon International? If so, in what way? If not, in what way? Why after years of complaints lodged has not any governmental agency stepped in and vetted this organization?

As a member of the general public should I be asking my local governmental mental health body why no or minimal involvement or oversight?

 Thanks!

Thank you. You have asked important questions which I have answered on other Forums and to the Media.

Naronons are their own Entity, ie, Corporations, but are completely controlled by ABLE, Narconon International, but mostly from the COS. I have leaked email dox where the COS is telling the Narconon Director how and when to "handle" certain Health Ministers. I also have original Credit Card receipts from ABLE Canada, who purchased material from the COS, and then gave this COS material to me at Narconon. (ABLE forgot and left the credit card receipt in with the COS material).

When I was at Narconon, there was also Narconon Canada, Narconon International, ABLE Canada, and members from the COS,......., all at Narconon Trois-Rivieres at the same time. It was a Circus and I had discussions and meetings with them all. Most importantly I have dox, including letters and emails. Hundreds of them. And thousands of dox in total. So I never speak or write anything without first checking to see if I have the dox to back it up.

This is how 've avoided being Sued by their Law Firm. I have had many warnings and threats to Sue me, but they never carried through. On the other hand, we're Suing them :-)

Narconon is operated just as the COS is. Stats must be in by 2:00pm to send to Narconon Int, which then goes to the COS. We played the "Birthday Games, had to do Condition Formulas, etc, etc. We followed Com Lines on the ORG Boards, CSW's, Assists,......everything is Scientology!

YES, all Narconons answer to Narconon International. They can arrive at any Narconon at any time and do "Corrective Measures and Directives." The costs are paid by the Narconon being corrected and these costs are high. ABLE, who licenses the Hubbard Material, also can show up at any Narconon at any time for reviews and inspections.

In Canada, Narconon Canada, (now recently dissolved), was above Narconon Trois-Rivieres, but under Narconon Int and ABLE Canada. But NN Canada weilded much power and control.; Remember all of these Executive ARE Scientologists with their own contacts and powerful COM lines into the COS.

Power struggles and covert actions are common place.

Narconon International can even control how and where each Narconon spends money that is in Building Funds etc. In fact Narconon Int can take over bank accounts and force a Narconon into a two signature bank authorization to use funds. One signatue being from Narconon INT.

Are you from California? If you are, perhaps we could help each other in approaching your Consumer Protection, Social Services, and Health Authorities and governments to investigate, pull business licenses, and shut them all down permanently.

It Can Be Done :-)

Thanks for the offer of assistance. I do not live in California. BUT would greatly appreciate any knowledge you could share with me and how I would start the processes you have mentioned above. We here have repeated publicly documented government citations of code infractions lodged against narCONon of Georgia.

Apparently those operating code infractions were corrected. YET it is my impression that the government agency that oversees the enforcement of said codes for all intents and purposes takes a very soft stance from an enforcement standpoint!

Here in Georgia, narCONon is run by members of the local so-called church of scientology. That in itself in my opinion can and does lead to a biased based operation. These same members have be sighted for operation and code violations multiple times over the time narCONon of Georgia has been in operation.

Tragically, a couple of years ago a young man died while a client of this business entity. Have state agencies shut the business down? Sadly not to my knowledge. What I fear more than anything is this " Out of sight, out of mind" attitude the state appears to take when enforcing laws pertaining to operations like narCONon.

If I the public citizen set aside my knowledge of what narCONon is, I have to seriously question why the state agency that licenses/inspects and oversees operations like narCONon are failing to do its intended job. That being public safety.

Intell. Would it be possible for you to post your first hand complaints in downloadable PDF files. It would be an asset I could use when approaching the powers that be in my area during face to face meeting relating to the topic of narCONon.

Government peeps rarely respond to emails or hard copy snail mail complaints. In person meetings tend to be far more impactful and rewarding.

Do you mean my complaints filed to government and health officials?

Intelligence has posted a lot of items which he could make public to WWP.  If anyone wants to sort through his threads over there and add a concise list of links with brief descriptions here, that would be welcome and a helpful thing to have.

(I'm not suggesting that Intelligence needs to do it - he has been doing plenty, and I'm sure he could use all the help he can get.)

Don't even try to read them all. They're at 1,692 on the WWP forum as of 1:47pm today. A couple of days ago, I went back and read a few that I posted when I first joined. Very emarassing reading. I guess I was messed up more than I thought. Could hardly write!

But I'm picking up speed now; and some of it even makes sense,....LOL - :-)
