The Nazi's kept compulsive records, too. Those who had died at their hand weren't human beings in their eyes. In the end, it burned them.  ;)

David Reed Austin was a "word clearer" at Narconon Arrowhead in 2007. David was not afraid to show someone the truth when asked, I am sure NN AH didn't like this tactic. During my one and only eye to eye conversation with Gary Smith, David was one of the topics. Gary Smith stated "we took care of that; he no longer works here".

Well here is what NN AH did with David, when he started displaying erratic behavior, due to NN trying to send him overseas (Turkey most likely). They confined David to a cabin with two staff roommates. A few other staffers, out of genuine concern, would periodically check on him; These staffers are now SP's. David was sent home (PA) around late '07 or early '08.

On November 11th, 2008 David went into the woods around his home and ended his life.

David Austin helped set me free with the truth, but it could not set him free.

I had a very emotional conversation with David's mother 2 weeks ago. She gave me her blessings to send this out with one promise...."make it go far and wide".

I played their game for the next 6 days until David a Word Clear made things perfectly clear on what was being taught and practiced. After break I sat down with David, a “Word Clear”. I would like to say that David was one of the nicest and most forthcoming people that I meet there.

David and I sat down together for about 5 hours. He was asking several questions regarding the experiences I had during the TR0 eyes open session. I told him exactly what I just told you. David couldn’t outright give me the answers to the questions that I was asking, but he did show me where to find the answers. When I kept asking “what just happened to me” he told me to go outside have a cigarette, because he needed about 10 minutes to get his materials together, so I complied to his request.

After about 10 minutes we were sitting back down at his desk, and he had a little red book with him. He opened the book and pointed out a word to me and asked me to read the definition. The word was thetan: the person himself-not his body or his name, the physical universe, his mind, or anything else; that which is aware of being aware; the identity which is the individual. David told me that I just had my first encounter with my thetan. I had never heard of this word before, because it is a word only used by Scientology. David continued to ask me a number of questions, so I humbled him by answering them truthfully, even though I was not interested in his explanations anymore. David did tell me something that I didn’t agree with and that was, he believes that his body is his spirit, and that when he dies his Spirit will be re-incarnated into something else. Well, after hearing what he just told me I felt compelled to tell him what I believe, that is, pointing to my body is only a vessel for my Spirit. And when I die my Spirit leaves the vessel and goes home, my body is exactly that a body. I thought it was a very good exchange of beliefs between two intelligent people. I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed my conversation with David. He was the only person at Narconon that I talked to that was a stand up person, his beliefs are his beliefs, and to me that is a very respectable aspect to David’s personality.

Please forgive my grammar...WOW

I knew him as well.  Didnt know that he had passed though.  Unfortunately it reminded me of another.

David Vantrease from NN stonehawk.  He killed himself as well shortly after reverting after being on staff and completing the program.  Damn it.

Thought of another.  Costas Raikos.  He was married to Vicki Smiths (Gary Smiths) daughter Rebecca Pool.  He was on staff at AH and died of an overdose after moving back to Mass when things didnt work out with Rebecca.  Left behind young kid.  So very sad.  He was a good guy at heart.

Thanks snippy.  He was a good man at heart.  His death (and all the others) are completely unnecessary.  I should be on that list 5 times over, but for some reason, i am still here.  Their deaths wont be in vain!

I couldn't agree more, Mary. And BMF, NO one should be on that list!

I have come to believe that many who have contact with these people are put at considerable risk of more than just relapse. Their program is dangerous physically, but their "counseling" and their self-serving callous attitudes towards people's real struggles with life traumas is downright TOXIC, for "students" and staff alike. It breaks my heart the way they steal people's hope away for the sake of their own greed.

From a dear friend:
I didn't know he overdosed. This is getting harder and harder for me Colin. I know you understand when I tell you that these people are folks that I was in contact with on a daily basis, and Costas in particular I was very close with. The obituary posted is full of inaccuracies. Would be more than happy to set the record straight on several points, some of them very important points.

It reminds me of the death of MARY HEATHER SPENCER. Her boyfriend George Bell III left Narconon Oklahoma after 3 months, having been sent there because while on PCP he beat up his girlfriend.

So after the 3 months, he returns ( supposed to be 6 months) and he kills the girlfriend in a drug rage 3 days after leaving NN. His mother who paid for him to go to Narconon refused to testify, despite the strong evidence that she was in the home when thisn happened and did not alert police right away.

Just Because A Guy Is Rich Doesnt Mean He Has Class
http://womenincrimeink.blogspot.com/2009/03/just-because-guy-is-rich-doesnt-mean-he.html

The mother of convicted killer George Bell III could give a statement under oath soon for the first time about what she witnessed the night her son beat Heather Spencer to death.

The statement would become part of a wrongful death suit filed in 2008 against the Bells as well as the drug treatment program George Bell III attended before the murder. The suit seeks the maximum amount of compensation and punitive damages allowed under Mississippi law.

George Bell III killed Spencer, his 28-year-old ex-girlfriend, in his mother's home between Sept. 10 and 11, 2007, just days after leaving the Narconon Arrowhead drug rehabilitation center in Canadian, Okla. He then kidnapped Spencer's roommate at gunpoint and took her to a house on Trawick Drive in northeast Jackson.

George Bell pleaded guilty in February 2008 and is serving a life sentence.
[..]

The suit contends Robbie Bell put her son, who "had been abusing cocaine, angel dust, PCP and steroids," in Narconon while wanted by Jackson police on a domestic violence warrant for attacking Spencer with a rubber mallet in June 2007. Spencer, who needed more than 50 stitches to close her wounds, later dropped the charge. [..]

The family also blames Narconon and its parent corporation, Narconon International, of failing to adequately treat George Bell III and to warn Spencer that Bell left the program months shy of completing it.

Narconon International was founded in 1966 by William Benitez, a former Arizona state inmate, and has grown into a network of 120 centers worldwide.

"Our drug rehabilitation program does not use drugs or medications to solve the problems caused by drugs, but does use nutrition and nutritional supplements as an important component of its delivery. Thus the Narconon program is neither a psychiatric nor medical, but a social education model of rehabilitation," the program's Web site states.

Francomb said she questions Narconon's methods because they follow the principles of the Church of Scientology, a religion founded in the 1950s based on the teachings of science fiction author L. Ron Hubbard.

"The reason we filed suit to begin with is the fact that after George's care there, he murdered my daughter," she said. "I just feel like they didn't do the correct job of helping him with his problem. If they are going to continue to be in the business, they either don't need to be dealing with violent offenders or they need to make sure they treat those people for their violent tendencies."

Mary - do you know how this case turned out? From the docket, the activity ended around Dec. 2011 but I can't decipher it. Mainly, I guess the question is,
"Was Narconon found to be negligent here?"

I believe there was some kind of settlement but details were not available to the public. The emphasis of the case was against Bell and his mother. Narconon was brought in as information about Bell's stay there became available.

Settlements occur often with Narconon cases. This is why the Desmond case is so important. Depositions, internal dox, a publc trial! None have gone this far.
