Wait, I thought only orgs had "church services", not missions.  I realize the "church services" are just PR scam, but hadn't really thought about missions trying to sucker in raw meat with it.

I wonder if the current cult members will be using the services of that SAUNA company narCONon uses? After all, it is very very very close to this mini mission or org.

mission or org.

While its official name may be debatable (There was never a sign specifying which it is at the Dunwoody location), I think either could possibly benefit the "stats" of the local cult :P

Downsize to mission: it does mean losing an org, though that would be left out of the documentation (because Scientology NEVER loses an org!) but when they finally decide to move into the idle building, they'd be upgrading from a mission to an idle org.

Remain an org: They can try to claim growth forcing them out of the Mt. Vernon building to Dunwoody, out of Dunwoody business center to a MULTIPLE STORY BUILDING OHMIGAWWWWDDDddddd!

Bah, whatever :P  They have a sign up so there's less question what we'll be protesting xDD

Current Idle org building which as we know the cult owns.

Current location which the cult ply's its trade on Winters Chapel Rd.

Last but not least, a couple of shots of the building in which the cults front group narCONon brings its clientele for the sauna/purif thing.

Thanks for the recon photos.  It looks like they have a car parked in the sauna building.   :P

And to fill out the photo collection, here is the West Peachtree org as of December 6, 1997 (you can see Tony solo picketing in the foreground to the left, along with the handler and photographer closer to the right):

And here is the 1611 Mt. Vernon Rd. location on a cold March 13, 1999 (with Susan Webb, DSA handler doing double duty as photographer):

It was my impression that whether it is a mission or an org depends on the level of courses offered, and the ownership.  It was my understanding that the CoS of Ga. is an org.

There was a mission in the past: http://corp.sos.state.ga.us/corp/soskb/SearchResults.asp?FormName=CorpNameSearch&Words=Starting&SearchStr=church+of+scientology&SearchType=Search shows 2 Scientology missions with "mission" as part of the name.

THE CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY, MISSION OF ATLANTA INC. with a status of "Diss./Cancel/Terminat" and a creation date of 1/25/1980
CEO: SCUPHAM PETER (REV.)
CFO: SCUPHAM ELIZABETH (REV.)
Secretary: (get this!) RIESER RAY
Registered Agent was Peter Scupham.
It was located at 3579 CHAMBLEE TUCKER RD ATLANTA GA 30341-4409

It was apparently revived as:
CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY, MISSION OF ATLANTA, INC. with a status of "Automated Administrative dissolution/Revocation" and a creation date of 12/9/1982
CEO:    RIESER, MARY
CFO: YARIAN, NANCY
Secretary: SEMMES, LINDA
Registered Agent was Mary Rieser.
It was located at 144 E ANDREWS DR NW ATLANTA GA 30305-1315

and the current business entity:
CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY OF GEORGIA, INC. with a status of "Active/Compliance" and a creation date of 10/18/1989
CEO: DEBORAH DANOS
CFO: Antoinette Ady
Secretary: Susan Multz
Registered Agent is Deborah Danos

This changed as of 10/5/2007.  Previously, the CEO was Karen Morris, CFO was Susan Multz, Secretary was Deborah Danos, and Registered Agent was Bradley A. Hutchins.  Bradley A. Hutchins resigned as Registered Agent as of September 18, 2008.  He gave no reason, and stated that the new registered agent was unknown to him and that the corporation had not provided him with that information.

More tangential info on the 2nd mission with CEO Mary Rieser created on 12/9/1982 (this whole story is heartbreaking, but included because it is part of the history of scientology in Atlanta.):
http://www.lawskills.com/case/id/302/85/index.html
Quote
Joscelyn Rieser was born on June 21, 1982, of Mary and Ray Rieser. Since 1987, when she reached age five, Joscelyn has lived in Atlanta with her maternal grandmother Rosalind Miller. The Riesers are divorced, and Mary resides in California. In August 1991, Mary came to Atlanta and announced she was taking nine-year-old Joscelyn back to California.
...
In September 1984, the parents left the child with grandfather Rieser in order to make a trip to California for several months. Shortly after Thanksgiving in 1984, the father took the child to grandmother Miller without any prearranged plans and left her there. She took care of the child until after Christmas, when the mother returned from California. During that month, the father did not care for the child and visited her infrequently. She cried repeatedly for grandfather Rieser and his wife. Beginning in January 1985, the child began staying with grandmother Miller on the weekends and spending the weekdays with her parents. Her parents separated in 1986, and the father moved to California. He did not see or speak to the child again until the summer of 1989. The mother remained in Atlanta. The parents' 1988 divorce decree makes no provision for the custody or support of the child.

1611 Mt. Vernon Rd. (the org from 1999-2007) is 7000 sq. ft.
The size of the N. Shallowford space was given in the parking study for the Sandy Springs zoning appeal as 11,500 sq. ft.  The current building size is given as 9,216 sq. ft. with minimum divisible space as 4,608 sq. ft.  So, they went up at N. Shallowford, and now down.

This does not help their RLUIPA case that they need the extra space at Roswell Rd.  It wouldn't even be believable that they couldn't find a larger space more suited to their space needs, in this economic climate.

(Darn this research stuff, I get started and it just goes on and on...)

DIANETICS SEMINAR

Come in for a seminar on Dianetics. We will have a seminar every weekend, Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 6pm. The admission is $35.

The 2 day seminar is supposed to be at least $50.  They could get in trouble with Int management for undercutting the price.

Seriously, there should be a price list somewhere for orgs and missions.  10 years ago, the minimum price for the 2 day Dianetics seminar was $50.  On WWP a while ago, there was a 2 day seminar advertised for $50.  Unless Int management has issued an order that reduces the price, the org can get in trouble for unauthorized reduction of price.

LOL, the org has a (single) "sermon" - THE SOLUTION FOR A DANGEROUS ENVIRONMENT

It would appear the Sunday Service is exactly the same every week, provided anyone actually shows up.  The course they would try to foist onto any raw public after the "sermon" would most likely be the "Ups and Downs in Life" course.

In addition, several of the local members seem to be having some financial difficulties and are recent garnishees.

I was wondering about that price. Appreciate the feedback.

I, too, appreciate the feedback and former insider's view.  Looks like right now, they may have bigger trouble than int base.   >:D

LOL, the org has a (single) "sermon" - THE SOLUTION FOR A DANGEROUS ENVIRONMENT

Even funnier when you consider that anything but the world of scientology is considered a dangerous environment.

It would appear the Sunday Service is exactly the same every week, provided anyone actually shows up.  The course they would try to foist onto any raw public after the "sermon" would most likely be the "Ups and Downs in Life" course.

Can you give us a brief synopsis of what that course covers?

One of the policies covering this would be Cutative Prices, HCOPL 27 September, 1970, found in OEC III (Green Volumes).  Fair Use extract, here is the first 3 sentences of that HCOPL -

CUTATIVE PRICES

HCO PL of 27 Apt AD 15 "Organizational Price Engram" is fully
valid and must be followed. It explains why price cuts damage orgs.

Price cuts are forbidden under any guise.

It's a stripped down, baby version of the PTS/SP course for noobs.  It goes over the 12 attributes of the social / anti-social personalities, PTS, disconnection, and the raw meat is also required to do a low gradient version of O/W writeups (confess your "sins" onto paper, without using an e-meter).  This is the simple version, wrere raw meat gets indoctrinated that anyone who opposes scientology is suppressive.

If the Div 6 (noob) course supervisor can successfully get raw meat through the course, complete with convincing the noob to write down in hard copy his "sins", then they have the noob snared into scilon "us against the world" cult way of thinking.

Wow. That seems to happen rather quickly. How long does it usually take to get through that course?
