BTW, I was in Cleveland on Sunday, so I decided to stop by the missions new building. I was there at about 3:00pm. There was no one around, and the doors were locked. When I was on staff the hours were always 11-6 on Sundays. So I am not sure if they are still active, or what happened.

You didn't happen to snap a picture of the mission being closed? There is an effort to collect detailed documentation like that (time, place, picture) in various places on the internet that would be very interested in having such a photo if it exists.

Excellent! The ideal pic would be something from a short distance back, where it's obvious that it's closed and nobody is home. Better yet - date and timestamp that photo if your camera has that capability. And you can e-mail that to me and I'll forward it on to the relevant bloggers who track closed/dieing orgs and missions closely and I'll make sure they credit you & linkback to your website of possible.

Hello All!! I figured I would stop by and see how you all are doing!! I am glad that you have taken the time to listen to my program on the Cult of Scientology. I hope that you all will join me this Saturday as we again dive deeper into what this cult really is. If you wanted to submit questions in advance so I could prepare, that would be great!!

 :w:e:l:c:o:m:e: to the RFTTP.

I hope to hear next Saturday's program.

There is far better info to be had on Shelly Miscavige stuff on Tony Ortega's Underground Bunker blog as well as his previous Village Voice blog postings. Here's some handy links:

Thanks AnonLover.  I think the missing spouse of a cult leader is newsworthy and more importantly an entry into the innerworkings of the "church" for any brave investigator.

Agreed. As Brent said - that is an excellent talking point and it ties into the latest buzz brewing nicely. Plus I think that will bring a value-added element to the next lecture as an current-events highlight that will be a good change-up from the ongoing discussion of Brent's own personal experiences.

I will be discussing a bit about the Ministers course, a little more about my experience with the church, both the mission in Cleveland and the Org in Buffalo. But other than that I was going to open it up to the listeners!  ;)

Here's my questions for next Saturday's installment of the Kingdom of Cults: SCIENTOLOGY lectures...

Last week, I raised the question at the end of part 2 regarding whether or not you had any experience dealing with disenchanted public Scientologists while on staff at the Cleveland mission. In that same vein, I'm wondering if you had any experience dealing with either public or other staff members being told to disconnect from their friends or family. (Or any other disconnection related experiences.)

Along the same line of thought - a follow up question to your previous remarks on the process of routing out and related sec checks that you underwent when you left: were you not asked to do the PTS/SP course? And if so, what was that like?

And finally, based on the supporting documentation for your series that I posted on imgur today:

Kingdom of Cults: Scientology Minister Course Dox
http://imgur.com/a/zn5YO#0

From the Minister Course checksheet I noticed that you completed the required reading for Section I: KEEPING SCIENTOLOGY WORKING and Section IV: GREAT RELIGIONS OF THE WORLD.

On those topics - the KSW policies is often cited by other former members as the point in which it seemed Hubbard really went off the rails and things became cult-like. So I'm wondering if you remember your own first thoughts/impression on those KSW policies and whether or not it raised questions for you. You can find copies of those policies if need be, linked to on this reference page (upper left): http://www.xenu-directory.net/practices/ksw1.html

The ^^same with the chapters on Eastern Religions. Scientology loves laying that claim to being a derivative of various Indic religious traditions. I've been researching those so-called connections lately, for the next couple of volumes in my Scientology Religiosity? series on Scribd (related discussion thread here: http://forum.reachingforthetippingpoint.net/index.php/topic,7973.0.html), and imo the similarities with Shintoism is downright scary. But similarities with everything else listed on that checksheet - not so much. So I'm wondering if your first thoughts/impression of that material was compatible with the claim Hubbard's teachings were the modern-day derivative of Buddist/Eastern beliefs.

And lastly - a followup request for a quote from your wife, regarding that funny tidbit you revealed last week on how they got her to come in and take the Communication Course, and with her being a Communications major - it only took her like an hour to complete it! What did she think when she seen that course material? And I'm wondering if they made her do those bizarre TRs since she was essentially only doing the course as a PTS handling action?

Great!! I will love to address all of these great questions! I will have my wife address your question! She loves sharing about her experience with the Scientology. I also wanted to share with you an email exchange I had today with the Buffalo Org:

Dear Brent,

    What is happening?

Hey Lynn,

I will reiterate what I said when I spoke with Blanca, I am no longer a scientologist.  AS I told Blanca salvation is FREE, no amount of money can buy your salvation. As a matter of fact, the debt to obtain salvation was so high that only one person could pay that price, and that was Jesus. In scientology you have to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to obtain spiritual freedom. Unfortunately that money buys you nothing, The Bible says that that wages of sin is death(spiritual death, separation from God). Jesus came and suffered death on behalf of the human race, so we dont have to go to hell. The only thing you have to do is pray a simple prayer, not spend hundreds of thousands of dollars. The prayer is easy, simple and provided you mean the words that you say and get your heart right with God you wont have to suffer hell. Lynn, if you are read to ensure your spiritual eternity all you have to do is say this prayer:

Dear God,
I come to You in the Name of Jesus. I admit that I am not right with You, and I want to be right with You. I ask You to forgive me of all my sins. The Bible says if I confess with my mouth that “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead, I will be saved (Rom. 10:9). I believe with my heart and I confess with my mouth that Jesus is the Lord and Savior of my life. Thank You for saving me!
In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.

If you said that prayer and meant it in your heart you are SAVED!! No need for any courses or auditing. Just a simple prayer, and the best part is that it was FREE, I wont charge you anything.

If you prayed that prayer I would love to know about it! Please feel free to email me and let me know!!

I shouldn't jest... but I can't help it... I'm betting Lynn has absolutely no idea how to "handle" that response with ARC, let alone confront it.

Honestly the email probably never even made it to Lynn, and went right to the HCO Executive Sec, it would cause too much entheta for one of their top sellers.
