Need letters to Illinois Attorney General
« on: February 20, 2011, 21:26 »
There is a link to Narconon on the Illinois Attorney General's site!  The last thing we need is for the people who are supposed to make sure justice is served to be linking people to Narconon.

Hello there, I see that you have a link to Narconon (narconon.org) on your meth information list, on this page:  http://www.illinoisattorneygeneral.gov/methnet/resources.html

Are you aware that Narconon is a drug rehabilitation program which is operated as a branch of the Church of Scientology?

Narconon is the subject of much controversy for its methods which include handfuls of vitamins at dangerous levels, overly long stays in a sauna, and the use of repackaged Scientology teachings, and for its exaggerated success rate claims.

You can find more information about Narconon here: http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~dst/Narconon/

I believe that given the controversial nature of the program that that link and any others to Narconon sites should be removed.

Thank you.

OMG! can't believe they have that on this site. Will write.

Done:

"I cannot believe that your office promotes the Narconon program on it's web site! I am an advocate for victims of this program and I can tell you that it is a dangerous program using scientology practices sold deceptively to get money from people trying to help their loved ones. Traditional therapies and appropriate medical care are never provided yet promised. You can read up on some of the many lawsuits filed across the country about the program and the harm it has done.

You can also look at the complaints at http://www.ripoffreport.com keyword search Narconon

It is irresponsible of your office to put that link and promote that program on your site. Please remove it "
