As the few spammers we get have gotten through and put spam links either in the forum, or in their signature, I have banned them and added their info to the Stop Forum spam database of spammers.  The spammers getting through1 really slowed down when we adopted a set of questions that should be easy enough for native English speakers, but somewhat cryptic for non-English speakers.

When you have 100 spammers added to the database, you are entitled to have your forum on the list of contributors.  I've read that spammers pass this list around in order to avoid being caught and added.  We finally made it, we're listed.   ;D

Will this mean a decrease in the already small number of spammers who get through?  Don't know - but if they do get through, maybe they'll get educated about Narconon and scientology.   And if they spam, they'll get banned.

1 There have been some spammers who managed to get registered as "sleeper spammers" (who let the account sit until it's forgotten about, then post their spam), but they got caught and banned while they were still sleeping.  :D
