A note about password errors
« on: June 01, 2010, 10:18 »
I notice from the forum error logs that people sometimes have a problem with password errors when trying to log in.  This seems to happen most often when someone has navigated to the site with the session ID in their link, as such:

http://forum.reachingforthetippingpoint.net/index.php?PHPSESSID=0f9dc7b04f1e46d14cb93d00fff9030e&action=login2

I believe happens because a new session ID is issued automatically for the new visit, and the old one confuses the software.

If you receive this error, please try removing the session ID before you try to log in.  If anyone is inclined to post the results of this experiment here, I would appreciate it.

Be nice.  Don't hit.  Don't run with scissors.  Try not to make a mess, and if you do, clean it up.

What do you do when 'potential' is your favorite word
and then the bus leaves you at the next move sideways?

Bump.

Alternatively, if you have problems logging in using the "Quick Login" at the top of every page, you can also go to an actual Login page by clicking the link above the login box.  The problem doesn't seem to exist there.
