I've made a few changes to the forum, with regard to post-count groups and permissions allowed for new members.
When someone registers, they are automatically put into the "New Around Here" group, and will be in this group until they reach 5 posts. Then they will move into the "On the path to knowledge" group, which is for members with 5 to 24 posts. Formerly, new members went directly into the "On the path to knowledge" group (which was 0-24 posts).
The new "New Around Here" group lacks certain permissions that people will gain once they have made their 5th post - the ability to send PMs and to look at the memberlist.
I do not want to take away anyone's ability to communicate privately, but this was necessary because a few members had reported receiving undesirable messages from people who registered purely for that purpose and had no intention of participating in the forum. I have, however, left the "New Around Here" members with the ability to read PMs, just keep in mind they will not be able to reply until they make the required number of posts unless you send them an email address.
I hope this doesn't cause anyone any problems, but if it does, please notify me in this thread - a simple "hey, I have a problem with this" in this thread will do. I do have the ability to change this on an individual basis, if necessary.
