Huntington is exclusively detox. At least it was so when I was there.

How the hell did they get licensed as a detox facility if that's an example of their level of knowledge????

Yes and no. Some folks go to a separate facility for medical detox where they titrate down on the meds. However, while I was staff there I witnessed two people withdrawing cold turkey from opiates and it was brutal. In any case, Sosin treated them all with some IV vitamin concoction. Oh. And drug bombs of course. Musn't forget the drug bombs.

From http://www.drugrehab.com/huntington_harbor_house.html

This facility and our highly trained staff handle the most severe withdrawal cases, while ensuring our clients are comfortable and feel at home.

What do they put in the drug bombs?

Other than niacin, I don't remember what was in it. I know it was dangerously high mega-doses of vitamins but I could not tell you exactly which vitamins

Drug Bomb consists of:

1000 milligrams of niacinamide (not nicotinic acid). This helps counteract any mental disturbance.

    5000 IU of vitamin A.

    400 IU of vitamin D.

    800 IU of vitamin E.

    2000 milligrams of vitamin C.

500 milligrams of magnesium carbonate (to make the vitamin C effective).

    25 milligrams of B6.

    200 milligrams of B complex.

    300 milligrams of B1.

    100 milligrams of pantothenic acid.

This formula should be given four times a day while a person is coming off drugs, roughly every six hours.

Thanks. I thought Cigul was referencing something other than vitamins.

Ye, Thanks Cigul. I am always appalled at how they let people suffer when a medial detox on a gradient would be do much better. Some state licensing agencies require medical detox environment for opiates just in case...
