Thanks DH - I haven't moved on to Louisiana and Texas yet, but I should get to those locations next week.

MuckRock had a glitch brewing where requests on local agencies that weren't in their database yet wouldn't submit. So that slowed me down a bit this week. But it's all good now.

I've been filling in some of the corporate infoboxes for Michigan. (Or Nevada in the case of the four Best Drug Rehabilitation ones. Per's being cute.)

Yes! I noticed that, and your pages have been proving extremely helpful in this project.

I have the two largest rehab addresses in MI now filed on, and I'll revisit that state once those agencies get back to me (some of these cops are bitch-y, lazy, etc. so I try to avoid pressing my luck and only file one at a time in a given agency.) So now I'm shifting back to FL, then on to TX & LA.

Ooops... small correction to info upstream ITT:

Narconon Gulf Coast in Destin is in a oddball location. Looks like Walton County on a map, but according to the Walton Sheriff's office, it is actually Okaloosa County jurisdiction.

The Main facility now known as Fresh Start Sunshine Summit Lodge is approximately thirty acres divided into three parcels, all three parcels have the same address.

The "Top House" as mentioned previously in this thread is located on parcel 114-140-64-00  which contains all the buildings that make up the" Lodge" and has the same address 35025 Highway 79.

JLB Ranch is about 2 miles west of the Lodge on Highway 79 unlike the Lodge it is owned by George Veliskakis which I'm sure he will deed to Narconon in time. "The Barn" which has been mentioned is also located on the same property and is not part of Narconon JLB Ranch. The Barn was never inspected by the Fire Marshall for a state license and I believe it has never been permitted.

The address for JLB and the Barn.

It appears Narconon has let JLB ranch license expire
Expiration Date: 11/30/2014

The Lodge and JLB Ranch (house) are the only facilities that Narconon can house clients legally.

The other houses that Narconon own or rent/lease,  I will assign numbers to make it easier (at least for me).

House 1
34174 Highway 79
Warner Springs, CA 92086
APN 114-140-05-00
Narconon bought this house around 2010/2011   for the purpose of expanding  the facilities.
They sold it in 2014 listing below, I believe they still occupied the house when the pictures were taken.

House 2
35040 Highway 79
Warner Springs, CA 92086

APN 114-140-51-00
  DEFAULTED PARCEL NO.
114-140-51-00
https://iwr.sdtreastax.com/SanDiegoTTCPaymentApplication/DefaultedDetails.aspx?parcelNumber=1141405100

Narconon bought this house in 2010 it is directly across the street from the Lodge facility they still own it.

House 3
35065 Highway 79
Warner Springs, CA 92086

APN  114-140-26-00
  DEFAULTED PARCEL NO.
114-140-26-00
https://iwr.sdtreastax.com/SanDiegoTTCPaymentApplication/DefaultedDetails.aspx?parcelNumber=1141402600

This house was purchase by David Worthington in 2001 who at that time was Treasure for Narconon
http://www.xenu-directory.net/documents/corporate/person.php?person_id=70
who deeded it back to Narconon in 2005, page 6 of the document.
http://www.xenu-directory.net/documents/corporate/pdfs/narconon-southercalifornia-deed.pdf

House 4 (The Blue House)
350207 Highway 79
Warner Springs, CA 92086

West of the lodge about 1/4 mile, not sure if they own/rent/lease.

House 5
35237 Highway 79
Warner Springs, CA 92086

Approximately  3/4 mile west of the lodge, Narconon leased this house for a year or two and was used for female staff (clients?).  The house was sold (not to Narconon) below is a link to the house and in the description it mentions it was leased to staff of a local corporation and the pictures are when the staff occupied the house.
http://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/35237-Highway-79_Warner-Springs_CA_92086_M24820-25238

House 6 (The Big House)
35422 Highway 79
Warner Springs, CA 92086

I believe this house was purchase by Narconon from the Sunshine Summit Store, they have a trailer in the back that someone mentioned in a previous thread.

The next and last facility (west) of the lodge would be JLB Ranch and that was covered above.
If I find out more information I will post it.

A little trivia about George Veliskakis
It seems George changes his story depending on who he is talking to.
http://creatingadrugfreeworld.blogspot.com/2008/08/road-to-miracle-from-hells-angel-to.html
http://www.tricycle.com/profile/three-lives-biker-buddhist
It also appears George was married to Marie Alice Cecchini.
 Veliskakis, George  Cecchini, Marie Alice 11 5 1999 91 211
http://pgsok.org/records/Marriage/docs/KCoM-V.pdf
I wonder if it is the same Marie  http://www.substanceabusepolicy.com/content/3/1/8

I just noticed that the state finally did the right thing and closed JLB Ranch because of the other illegal program that was being run on the property there, and nearby down the road. Thanks for your efforts on all this, Sunshine!

I wouldn't count it dead-dead until it's gone from the next list. I wish California had an online system with live data.

I agree. They claim "To verify DHCS licensed or certified programs please check the Licensing and Certification Branch Directory." Yet it's expired. So ask around there...

You can obtain updated information for each CA program by contacting it's county program administrator. Here is the list of California County Program Administrators Directory
http://www.dhcs.ca.gov/services/MH/MHSUD/Pages/CountyProgAdmins.aspx

You can also try the state SUD contact number from the Department Contact list. It shows phone number, address for programs and divisions within DHCS.

You might also be able to get some information by asking the perwson who picks up the phone on the complaint line:

As Tony Ortega so graciously mentioned on his blog today, the ongoing project I've been organizing ITT to gather a collection of police records on all of the Scientology-based drug and alcohol addiction rehabs in the US has landed a hit in Colorado with a major fee assessment.

So far, previously filled requests only required nominal fees for a few dozen records at most. Those costs were easily covered by either my own pocketbook and/or with the generosity of few private donors who have been supporting my larger FOIA project.

But the open records request I filed for Narconon Fresh Start in Colorado uncovered a huge stash of 135 police records and the fees are beyond our means. So I'm doing the public begging thang, and asking all my friends and collaborators in the anti-scientology sectors of the interwebz to toss in a few bucks for a crowdfunding campaign I launched to help raise the required fees that's being run on the MuckRock request page here:

https://www.muckrock.com/foi/fort-collins-5829/fort-collins-police-records-on-narconon-colorado-scientology-drug-rehab-17685/

All contributions will be used towards fulfilling the open records request, even if the full amount of the fees isn't raised. Once the crowdfunding campaign ends on June 30th, if the full amount has not been met MuckRock will negotiate with the agency on my behalf for a subset of the available records that can be covered by the amount of funding that was collected.

Donations are made anonymously by default and are not tax-deductible, but you will receive a receipt via email a few minutes after the secure, online payment processing is completed. And thank you in advance for your support!

On the subject of my bigger FOIA project, so far I have filed 95 requests via the MuckRock News service under the federal FOIA and various state-level Open Records statutes. My focus has been in the areas of past government investigations of Scientology, key figures from the Guardian's Office era of crimes committed against the government and Police/EMS/FTC records on Scientology-based schools and rehab centers. In the past 10 days or so, five NEW disclosures have come in that the Underground Bunker hasn't had a chance to report on yet.

To see all the Narconon specific requests I have in the works currently listed in the public domain, see: https://www.muckrock.com/search/?q=drug+rehabs

(Note: there's a few hidden requests not showing up in the above links where the records have been received but we haven't had a chance to either compile and/or properly research the information for optimal publishing yet.)

So ok, where was I on this front? Oh, right... I temporarily stopped here:

AKA Novus Florida Detox Center:

We don't have a NarcononReviews sidebar list item for this one yet. Anything else I should see/read up on for background scoop?

EDIT: Whoa... the website doesn't look like the usual Narconon smarmy stuff. Are we sure this one is Scientology-related?

See if the info in this thread helps, AL:
http://forum.reachingforthetippingpoint.net/index.php/topic,3257.0.html

The locations don't show up on the sidebar until we have something (dox) on them.  I'm considering making placeholder-type pages for those so that they will show up, lest someone think they're not narconons if they're not listed there, and end up going there thinking they were approved in some weird way.  I need to do a bit more consideration of that idea, though.

Of course, getting dox fixes that problem now, doesn't it.   ;)
