I just found this: http://sscrt.org/contact.asp

I'm thinking we may be able to send out info to this contact to be disseminated to all of the SS HOA's.

Contact with email address: President

Excellent work people. I think it best we consentrate of just those HOA, business, churches etc that are located within the 5TH and 6TH district of Sandy Springs.

The site Mefree found would be a great mass email start. Hows about to do a cover letter with links and facts? Then send it out and see what feed back we get.

I drove to the Sandy Springs proposed Ideal Org location on 3/29/09. I drove around the immediate area. Meaning the Roswell Rd and Glenridge Dr corridor.

Here is a list with address,s of some of the gated communities i have found for DIRECT MAILING of the zoning issue.

Southern Trace Apartments. 5320 Roswell Rd Sandy Springs Ga.

Willow Glen 5425 Glenridge Dr. Sandy Springs Ga.

Belmont Village (senior living) 5455 Glenridge dr. Sandy Springs Ga.

Charleston Court 5450 Glenridge dr. Sandy Springs Ga.

The Enclave @ Glenridge. located on Greenland rd. ( no main address found) Sandy Springs Ga.

Country Hills Estates. 440  Belada BLVD. Sandy Springs Ga.  note ( homes in this sub are @1.9 million or above)

Unnamed Subdivision 5492 Glenridge dr. Sandy Springs Ga.

Mann House (assisted living) 5411 Northland dr. Sandy Springs Ga.

The Regent Condominiums. 5415 Northland dr. Sandy Springs Ga.

Stonecrest Estates. 5512 Glenridge dr. Sandy Springs Ga.

The Courtyards of Glenridge. 5375 Roswell rd. Sandy Springs Ga.

Round Hill Condominiums 5400 Roswell rd. Sandy Springs Ga.

----- All of the above are i believe within the 30342 Zip code

.................................. .................................. ................

The below list here is some of the side streets close to the org that are private homes with mail boxes. You can legally put a flyer, under or on the post on which the mail box stands. YOU CAN NOT place anything in or on the physical mail box itself. YOU CAN mail something to the address though, but a flyer would be cheaper.

Stewart Dr. off Rowsell rd.

Tall Oaks Dr. off Glenridge dr.

Northland Dr. of Glenridge dr.

Sherrell Dr. off Glenridge dr.

Benton woods Dr. off Glenridge dr.

ALL the above homes and gated communities are approx. 500 to 2000 feet from the Ideal org. Those are the people who DID not receive notice from Sandy Springs city hall regarding the zoning variance. I believe the 30342 Zip code applies to this general area.

Here is another link that might be useful: http://www.sandyspringscouncil.org/

It's the Sandy Springs Council of Neighborhoods:
Quote
Sandy Springs, Georgia is a great place to live, work, and play.  The Sandy Springs Council of Neighborhoods (SSCN) is a volunteer group of Home Owner Association Officers (HOAs) who pool our knowledge of local regulations, policies and key contacts.  We work with elected officials, citizens, community organizations and businesses to keep Sandy Springs' neighborhoods strong and vibrant.

Our Mission:
To identify common issues, to achieve common goals, and to stabilize, preserve, protect, and enhance the quality of Sandy Springs' neighborhoods and community.

SSCN seeks to bring together all homeowner and condominium associations of Sandy Springs in an effort to unify the community, pool knowledge and talents.

All homeowner and condominium associations are urged to join SSCN and participate.

There are names listed on the site, and I recognize some of them from the City of Sandy Springs thread; I'm just dropping this in here for near-future reference.

There's also this, with other SS civic groups: http://www.sandysprings.org/

can we call me late to the game on this....

I have an idea, but it will take time and I don't have time to do it.  (I'm sorry, but a lot has stacked up on me lately.)

The majority of these hoa do have their own forums.  I know mine dose. If you want to reach the people of each community quickly someone should enroll on them and start posting the letter for all to see. It will get a very quick immediate response.

Places to look:

Those free "buy a house" periodicals in grocery stores and gas stations. HOAs with available homes for sale often advertise in these, and addresses are given; failing that, a real estate agent is listed, and you can call them on the phone and ask for the street address of a property.

Yellow pages online?

Also worth considering?:

* Apartment complexes nearby. The apartment management groups may be just as interested as home owners in this issue. If the cult's presence will make their apartment complexes less desirable, they may be inspired to attend and comment at meetings.

* Strip mall management companies. It is likely that overflow traffic will end up in their lots, taking spaces awy from paying customers of the businesses they rent to.

* The church that had to relocate due to increase in size. Some digging may reveal that they were denied favours the cult is actively trying to get. If so, this is ammunition to use during meetings. If Church Hugelarge Baptistlutheranmethodist was not allowed to stick around due to a large congregation, why should the cult get special dispensations? Was there not a church that got run out due to its size?

* Office buildings in the area. Again, overflow from the cult's lot may wind up in their lots, displacing legitimate employee vehicles and delivery vehicles.

* Schools in the area. Again, ditto.

The home owners will have the most clout, but perhaps some of these groups might also have a stake in this.
