Thank you Chef!  We are collecting these, among other things, to show Sandy Springs (where the Atlanta org wants to have their ideal org building rezoned so they can use it) how other buildings in other places look.

Roof tiles missing; landscaping untended; paint peeling; cheap, ugly signs; past and current behaviors are the best predictors of future behaviors! I doubt the Sandy Springs community wants this.

Big Blue, via Google Earth.

Thought: use street addresses to get GoogEarth pix of other buildings. :)

three pictures of the Seattle, Washington Org on Aurora Ave.:

Not an org: This land used to be tennis courts in a poorer section of Clearwater. Scientology said they were building a new school. This property is at the corner of Wyatt and Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. in Clearwater.

Beleaguered building
http://www.rickross.com/reference/scientology/realestate/realestate19.html
Church-owned Old Pas site vacant and in need of repairs
Pasadena Star-News/June 8, 2008
By Janette Williams

Pasadena - Exactly two years after the Church of Scientology bought the historic Braley Building in Old Pasadena - and went into high gear to get all 22 small-business tenants out - not a single plan for the promised fast-track conversion has been submitted to the city.

The deterioration in the historic 1906 building's appearance - and the inability of city staff to contact the owners about it - has been a source of "frustration," said Eric Duyshart, Pasadena's director of development.
"We've been very disappointed that the building has been a vacant eyesore in Old Pasadena," he said. "We have sent code-enforcement to evaluate violations there on the site ... over the past two or three months."

Moar info. There might be a few pics in here of use.

How long ago did they purchase this, and how far off from the promised construction date are they?

I'm not sure of any of the property details.

But I do have some good news! xD  Big blue got its sign today!

This is the best picture I could get of it so far, but I hope it's enough to not overstate its classy, modest appearance.

Apparently this was the old sign:

before the damage several years ago which has only recently been repaired:

(is that the damage or a renovation project?)

Here's a list I came up with the other night, mostly by searching flickr.com (started out searching google images):

San Francisco, 1998 (It's not just recently that they haven't kept up their buildings:

More about Big Blue and the earthquake damage:

There's a postcard picture here of what the building used to look like
before scientology bought it (they took a beautiful old historic
building and look what they did to it):

Los Angeles Celebrity Centre, I believe:

There's also this: http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/view?q=scientology&psc=G&filter=1&hl=en

Nashville, Tennessee: Ideal Celebrity Center.  When I was there, the windows had sheer curtains -- sort of the see out but not see it type.  Now, they're blocked with something that lets no light through.

The lot directly to the left of the Nashville Org is also owned by Scientology, and features a HUGE, swilly, open septic tank hole and trash and dirt everywhere.

I love the way they tacky up even the nicest looking buildings with all the overdone posters and cheap vinyl banners.  Kind of like a Maserati with a bunch of bumper stickers.
