Mike Wilson has been named managing editor of the Tampa Bay Times, part of a newsroom leadership reorganization that Times editor Neil Brown said will "keep our journalism strong and our aspirations high in 2012 and beyond."

Wilson, 50, will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Times newsroom. For the past three years, he has directed the paper's enterprise and features work and has been in charge of the Sunday paper.

Orsi, 45, a 23-year Times veteran who was raised in Clearwater, will be the senior editor in charge of local and business coverage in the paper's four-county Tampa Bay coverage area. "Jennifer is at the hub of our local news report," Brown said.

• Joe Childs becomes senior editor/at large. Childs, 62, has been a Times journalist for 36 years and most recently has written and directed the paper's award-winning investigative coverage of the Church of Scientology. He will continue that work, and direct strategic business projects for the company.....
