Could this be so when these two testify truthfully, the cult^\^\^\^\ NarCONon can claim they are disgruntled former employees? Though it is hard to imagine them able to think clearly enough to make such a plan! :D

I would hope that attempting to use non-disclosure agreements to prevent an employee from reporting criminal activities would be frowned upon by any court, and hopefully would be both a civil and criminal tort.

From a couple of cases I've watched in my local area, the courts consider an NDA so much toilet paper when it comes to criminal cases. Not so sure about civil cases though. They might clear the courtroom or something, but don't know for sure.

DA: Narconon Arrowhead under investigation by OKLA Dept. of Mental Health after Four Death. Link: http://mcalesternews.com/local/x44829217/DA-Narconon-Arrowhead-Oklahoma-Department-of-Mental-Health-investigates-deaths

I am so glad the investigation continues and these peoples lives/deaths are not being brushed under the rug. They, and their families deserve much better. Tidbits that I found of interest:

"The widening investigation..."

"Hull said the Department of Mental Health was looking into the facilities licensing provisions and other issues."

"Kern's said his deputies escorted the DMH investigators to the facility on Thursday."

The Narconon staff must be so happy to have the dept of mental health involved in the investigation. ::)

In this usage 'who me?' is clearly (excuse me) a proper name. Ergo, you are totally correct in putting the period after the question mark. :P|

Too funny. There is some irony when wynot (who's name may be missing a question mark) is answering a grammar question for ethercat. Because I was so terrible at english in school and had to work extra hard just to get to the level of "OK", I don't much comment on grammar.

... when wynot (who's name may be missing a question mark) ...

While a question mark might seem to be implied in my nic, it is really just Tony W (my given name and initial), backwards.

OTOH, if you believe that this is all my nic signifies, there is a bridge to total freedom available for purchase, I hear! :D

DA: Narconon Arrowhead under investigation by OKLA Dept. of Mental Health after four deathsBy Jeanne LeFlore Staff Writer The McAlester News-Capital
Mon Aug 06, 2012, 11:13 AM CDT

McALESTER — District 18 Assistant District Attorney Richard Hull confirmed this morning the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health was at Narconon Arrowhead to investigate Thursday after three deaths in the last year and a fourth death in 2009.

Hull said the Department of Mental Health was looking into the facilities licensing provisions and other issues.

"The Inspector General is looking into the consumer aspect of compliance with Department of Mental Health," Hull said.

The widening investigation began after of 20-year-old Stacy Dawn Murphy of Owasso was found dead at the facility July 19th.

Four deaths are under investigation according to Pittsburg County Sheriff Joel Kerns.

Kerns said Monday Murphy's death along with the death Hilary Holten who was also found dead at Narconon Arrowhead in April and Gabriel Graves who died at the facility in October and the 2009 death of Kaysie Dianne Werninck, 28, are all under iinvestigation.

Kern's said his deputies escorted the DMH investigators to the facility on Thursday.
He said on Friday, his department also requested documents including video tape and all records associated with the recent deaths.

"We requested everything, including video and documentation," he said.

He said Narconon was compliant.

"They gave us everything we asked for," Kerns said.

Even with their names made known, they won't be talking. Gag agreements and all being the usual. But it would be good to know who got fired :)

There's a comment made by Tikk (an attorney) on WWP about these types of non-disclosure agreements, in a thread about reporting scientology-related crimes to the FBI:
Quote
I think the one thing I'd add to this is mention of the battery of waivers and non-disclosures signed by departing exes, which is probably Scientology's most effective deterrent against investigation into its conduct. These signed agreements range with differences so there's not much useful I can say in the way of a blanket statement as to their validity.

But I will say that these agreements are intended to keep you from approaching law enforcement or filing a civil claim and like almost every contract drafted by the more leveraged party, the ones I've seen anyway, overreach and often amount to flimsy, calculated bluffs. Many of the clauses in these agreements were not meant to hold up in court--they were meant to keep you quiet. Even if certain parts of the agreement are enforceable, other parts may not be; even if you've accepted a cash settlement. At the very least, your approaching law enforcement or an attorney to consult as to the validity of the agreement will not violate the agreement. Talk to someone if you're on the fence.

I signed a confidentiality and non-disclosure statement in my employment
contract, but it doesn't hold much water (at least in Canada), when there are
crimes being investigated.

AND on top of that, the cult knows better than to begin litigation on someone
who reports crimes etc. Look what happened in the Debbie Cook ordeal.

I was walking through a local antique store and came upon this ashtrays. Try as I may, I could not get a rise out of any of them! No money was exchanged,so I think that may have been the problem ;)
