I have a question about the status of a Scientology staffer who discovers his son, who lives with his divorced wife is in treatment with a psychiatrist.

I am assuming that the staffer becomes PTS immediately since his son is now a psych SP, but don't know for certain if this is correct.

I also don't know the procedure the staffer must follow.

- To whom must he report his change in status and how? Does he call up his Ethics Officer and/or submit a Knowledge Report of is there some other procedure?

- If this is handled by an Ethics Officer, what response is he required to give to the presumably now-PTS staffer?

- Does he call for an Ethics Interview and assign a Lower Condition?

- And/or does he work out a program to handle the son, and is the program written out and what is it called?

- Does the PTS staffer have to be sec checked and if so by whom and in what document is this recorded?

- If the staffer is undergoing on-going auditing and training presumably he is now forbidden from these. Is this requirement every "fudged" so he can continue auditing and training?

- How much time is the staffer allowed to complete handling of the son to get him out of the clutches of the evil psych and to stop taking psychiatric medications?

(If ex-Scientologists know of concrete situations it would be helpful for them to share.)

-  For as long as the son goes unhandled what reports does the staffer have to submit? How much time is he given to handle the son before he has to disconnect?

- How does the incomplete handling of the son appear in the weekly stats of the staffer, the ethics officer, and his auditor?

Thanks for your help!

I don't know the "official" answers to your questions, but perhaps one of our exes will, or you might ask on ESMB

I would imagine, in practicality, the staffer's handling would depend on how "upstat" he is at bringing money into the org, or how much potentially damaging info he has.

It sounds a lot like the Kyle Brennan story: http://justiceforkylebrennan.blogspot.com/2012/08/the-death-of-20-year-old-kyle-brennan.html

Thanks, 10-O!

And yes ethercat this is in reference to Kyle Brennan.

Questions are about Denise Miscavige and when she audited and then was forbidden from auditing Tom Brennan when he discovered in June 2006 that Kyle was being treated by psychiatrist Dr. Stepehen McNamara in Charlottesville.

The primary document for questioning is the Privilege Log OSA Int authorized their lawyers to present to Judge Merryday.

http://www.scribd.com/doc/80507394/Kyle-Brennan-Scientology-Case-Defendant-Flag-Service-Organization-Privilege-Log-2007

Tom moved to Tampa in 2005 and became a Div 6 staffer at the West Tampa Org. He met Denise who was volunteering at a kiosk. He was selling carpets on the street to make ends meet.

She offered him a job as a handyman for 9 rental properties she owns with her (third) husband Jerry Gentile in Tampa-Clearwater. She also recommended him to a realty company who became a major client. So she is his boss and patron.

Tom is dazzled by her knowledge and celebrity, and he becomes her sycophant. Jerry is away five days a week working near DC, and is only home on weekends.

So Tom describes himself to Victoria at one point as a "rent-a-husband" to Denise. I hasten to add there is no evidence for out-2D in this friendship. Denise becomes Tom's confidant. He tells her everything.

She is Flag public and wants to become an auditor so she enrolls in the student auditing program taking courses in the Coachman Building across the street from Tom's Cleveland St. apartment where Kyle was killed in February 2007.

So Tom has to apply for permission to be audited by Denise, and that is the first entry for May 3, 2006, when Student MAA ethic officer Matteo Rosetti writes to Karine Howd at FLB OSA.

Lance Marcor has given an analysis of the Privilege Log with attached LRH policies. He point out that OSA Int has suppressed Howd's response to Rosetti.

http://dialogueireland.files.wordpress.com/2010/11/lance-marcor-second-declaration.pdf

Rosetti writes again two days later to Howd, and again the response has been withheld from the court.

Now I am assuming that at some point permission is granted and Denise starts auditing Tom, but there is nothing I can find in the Privilege Log that confirms that.

The next event is Tom discovering from Victoria in a phone conversationin June 2006 that Kyle is seeing Dr. McNamara. At this point Tom was PTS and had to report to Ethics, and Denise had to stop auditing him, but there are no documents in the privilege log until September 7, which is a highly significant date.

At this point I think Tom is so enslaved to Denise that there is nothing that he does that he hasn't gotten her input on. At this point Denise's role in handling Kyle is not overt in the dox. The last week of Kyle's life she will take an active and documented role in attempting to handle him.

Tom lures Kyle to Clearwater  on false promises but solely for the purpose of handling him.

Kyle arrives on Aug 15 and stays for three weeks.

Scientologists from the West Tampa org work on him, as does Denise's NY staffer galpal Wendy Jill Borden, who actually moves in with Tom while Kyle is there, and marries him the month after Kyle leaves. They are all pressuring him to take a personality test.

Denise invites him over and tries to fix him up with her daughter. She later says that Kyle was "anti-social".

Things culminate on Sep. 5. Tom attacks Kyle's desire for college saying Scientology is all he needs. He accuses Victoria of trying to kill him with psychs and psych meds. He says Dr. McNamara will post his records on the internet.

Kyle fights back, and then goes to his bedroom. He overhears Tom and Wendy calling him an SP and Enemy of the Church.

Kyle lays down for a nap and is startled awake by Tom standing over him with a piece of heavy office equipment as if to strike him. Kyle calls Victoria, barricades his room, and leaves on the morning of Sep 7.

Now appears the next entry in the privilege log dated the same day, Sep 7. Rosetti writes Case Supervisor Marissa Jensen. So what could this be about?

Has Denise been auditing Tom despite his being PTS? Is this a comm that tells her to stop since Kyle has foiled every attempt at handling and is now a total SP? Or is Denise being exempted from the prohibition of auditing PTS pre-clears?

The next thing in the privilege log is an extraordinary series of four comms written almost daily over the period Jan 13 - Jan 17, 2007 by Denise to Rosetti "in furtherance of Tom Brennan's auditing."

Is she seeing him in session every day, or is she writing in her capacity as Tom's Scientology mentor and confidant, friend, employer, patronne, and all around Scientology Cult Goddess ?and did OSA Int falsely claimed privilege for her comms and lie to the court that she was writing in her official capacity as an auditor?

Here is the context:

Kyle spent the month of Dec 2006 in Iowa thinking his way back to trusting Victoria and his family in Charlottesville after Tom's poisonous accusation on Sep 5, 2006. that Victoria was attempting to kill him.

In January he sets out to rescue Tom from further degradation by Scientology by carrying out a mission to the FBI.

Victoria provides exact dates in her Legal Timeline:

http://vbreton2062.wordpress.com/2013/04/27/legal-time-line-estate-of-kyle-brennan-vs-the-church-of-scientology/

Kyle flies from Des Moines on Jan 9, 2007 to San Diego to visit Tom's sisters Cary and Cathy. He stays with Cathy and her husband Jeff Farrell until Jan 15.

Denise first writes to Rosetti on Jan 13 and three more times through Jan 17.

Tom was not only PTS to Kyle on psych issues, he must also have been PTS to Cathy and Cary.

Cathy is the oilder sister and she had severe psychiatric problems which led to Cary taking guardianship and hospitalizaing her in 2006 where ECT was part of her treatment.

Victoria writes about Cary: "She told me that while Kyle was staying with her she had gotten into the biggest arugment with Tom that they had ever had in their life.

She said she had tried to discuss with Tom that Kyle was in need of psychological help. she said that Tom became livide over this suggestion and a huge argument ensued. She went on to say that both her she and her sister Cathy Brennan were getting really fed-up with his ranting about Scientology. She said that Cathy had told him directly to stop sending Scientology propaganda to their homes."

Kyle moved out from the Farrells on Jan 15 since the Farrells were having their guest house remodeled. He stayed in a Motel 6 until Jan 24.

While there he spoke with Victoria's brother, his Uncle Gary in Florida, whom he loved and trusted, and Gary suggested he take a vacation in Maui which he did, leaving on Jan 24 from San Diego and leaving Maui for San Francisco and Cleawater on Feb 6.

Rosetti writes to Marissa Jensen on Jan 26 and Jan 30. What could this be about? Is Denise auditing Tom?

There are four more comms from Denise to Rosetti:

Feb 6 - the day after Kyle was assaulted on Maui and asked Tom if he could visit him on his way home.

Feb 7 - the day Kyle arrives in Clearwater.

Feb 12 - the day after Denise attempts to handle Victoria into putting Kyle in Narconon Arrowhead.

Feb 13 - three days before Kyle's death. This is most likely the day Tom discovered Kyle had been calling the FBI, and presumable becoming PTS a second time for Kyle being connected to the FBI as a suppressive group.

So the main question again is how strictly PTS prohibitions enforced on Denise being prohibited from auditing Tom for the entire eight and a half months Kyle was an unhandled SP from June 2006 through his death on February 16, 2007?

Thanks for your thoughts on these issues.

Kyle would be the PTS person because he is connected to the "SP" psychiatrist.

If Kyle was becoming suppressive to Tom in some way, or if Tom himself was evidencing 'symptoms' of PTSness
http://www.scientology.org.au/courses/ethics-and-survival/overcoming-ups-a-downs-in-life?layout=view

it would come up in his auditing and then Tom would be put on a program to identify and handle the source of suppression, or disconnect if handling the situation with the person was not working.

This policy would apply to him as a preclear ( one getting auditing) aka PC

OUTLINE OF PTS HANDLING
http://www.suppressiveperson.org/sp/archives/518

The first basic course one would take would be Handling The Ups and Downs in Life Course. This is done to educate the person so they can spot suppression and traits Hubbard claimed make an SP while learning Hubbard's ideas about how suppression effects a person ( a PTS person)
This is also taught at Narconon
Narconon Course 5, Ups & Downs in Life Course
https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B6nxlq1drI2SMzRhZDU5OWYtYThkMS00YmExLWI5OGQtYTczODdjMTgyYTIy

Anyone PTS would be required at some point to take this course
https://wikileaks.org/wiki/Talk:Scientology_cult:_PTS-SP_Routing_Handling_Checksheet

Whether Tom was "PTS" to the situation with Kyle has to do with how much Kyle's activities and behaviors after arriving in Clearwater were effecting Tom according to his understanding of the subject and according to Scientology criteria. It could well have gone this way when Kyle began to exhibit apathy and paranoia in any way and Tom did not know how to deal with it except try and get him to do Narconon ( a stupid suggestion on Gentile's part).

So when that idea was squashed by Victoria, he could have also felt Victoria to be suppressive as well...under 'psych' influence

Twin sister of Scientology leader Miscavige arrested for marijuana possession

    Joe Childs, Managing Editor/Tampa Bay

Saturday, June 29, 2013 6:00pm

By JOE CHILDS

Times Staff Writer

The black Dodge Durango was parked next to the house that had been such a problem for St. Petersburg police. Street cop Terrence Nemeth was watching. Shortly before 7 p.m., the Durango went out the back way. It turned into an alley and then drove into the street, nearly hitting an ambulance.

Nemeth stopped it. A middle-aged woman was at the wheel. The officer told her he had seen the car at "a known drug house.''

Could he search it?

She said yes.

Under the driver's seat Nemeth found a black vinyl bag with nine cigars, or "blunts," containing marijuana.

The woman said she didn't know how it got there. But she slurred her words, belched, smelled of alcohol, and had bloodshot, watery eyes, Nemeth reported. Breath tests showed readings of 0.119 and 0.124, above the legal limit of 0.08.

Police charged the driver with misdemeanor marijuana possession, DUI and failure to yield. Nemeth took her to jail.

It probably seemed a routine arrest. But the woman was Denise Gentile, and in her world, this was anything but routine.

Gentile, of Clearwater, is a well-known Scientologist and the twin sister of the church's worldwide leader, David Miscavige.

Her marijuana arrest is messy for the church because Scientologists have zero tolerance for mind-altering substances. They believe street drugs and psychiatric medicines make spiritual growth impossible.

Gentile's pot bust has remained a secret. But it is just the beginning of the story.

Miscavige's sister has been involved with drug users and drug sellers for years, an investigation by the Tampa Bay Times reveals.

Her husband, Gerald Gentile, owned the "drug house'' his wife was seen leaving on Jan. 22. Denise Gentile collected rents from tenants in the four rental units. They called her "Miss Denise.''

This caught my eye... "She said she had not smoked marijuana in 10 years, Nemeth reported."

Bet she was made to do Narconon back then. She's " a relapser" like so many who graduate the program... the ones they don't count in their often spouted false success rate.

I have just posted this comment at the article:

Comment - Part One of Three:

Denise Miscavige plays a key role in the death of 20-year-old Kyle Brennan form Charlottesville, VA, in 2007. Information from depositions and other documents in his wrongful-death suit suggest very strongly that his death was a murder covered up to look like suicide.

Miscavige and her husband Gentile were named as defendants in the suit along with the Flag Service Organization that manages Scientology's $100MM+ operation in Clearwater.

The other defendant was Kyle's father Tom Brennan, who had been a Scientology staffer in Miami in his early 20s from 1973-1976. He left Scientology and married Victoria Britton and their son Kyle was born in 1986 after they moved to Charlottesville, VA, and established a small but successful catering company.

In 1998 Victoria and Tom separated, and he rejoined Scientology by driving up to Washington DC to take courses. He then started embezzling money from the catering company and subsequently started a fire in the Ivy Gardens apartment complex which destroyed all the firm's business papers.

Brennan lied under oath and said only personal papers were lost in the fire.

He moved to the Fort Myers area in 2003, and then to Tampa in 2005 where he became a staff member at the West Tampa Org.

He met Denise Miscavige while they were both working selling L. Ron Hubbard books at a Scientology kiosk. He was trying to make ends meet selling carpets on the street he had gotten from an Israeli Scientologist.

Miscavige discovered that Brennan was a handyman. She hired him to work on nine rental properties in the Tampa Bay area she owned with her husband, and introduced Brennan to a realty company who became a major client. Brennan may well have worked at “Miss Denise’s drug house.”

Miscavige became Brennan's confidant as he became enchanted with her her knowledge of Scientology and celebrity status as David Miscavige's twin-sister.

At one point Brennan described himself as Miscavige's "rent-a-husband" since Miscavige's husband commuted to Maryland where he worked and lived in Clearwater only on the weekends. Having been a chef Brennan would cook for her and provide companionship. There is no evidence of sexual impropriety.

In May 2006 Miscavige asked to become Brennan's Scientology psychotherapist or auditor. In June Brennan discovered that Kyle was being treated for a mild psychiatric ailment (mild depression) and was immediately required by Scientology to "handle" Kyle or Miscavige would be forbidden from auditing him any further.

Scientology is waging a War on Psychiatry and Miscavige's twin-brother David Miscavige in 1995 laid down as a primary objective for all Scientologists "the total eradication of psychiatry in all its forms."

Brennan therefore tricked Kyle to take time off and move to Clearwater for what would have been his first semester as a college sophomore under the pretense of offering him a job at $15/hour, which did not exist.

The sole purpose was to "handle" Kyle and get him to stop seeing his psychiatrist and taking his medication. Brennan and many Scientologists pressured Kyle including his Scientology staffer girlfriend from NY and subsequently his wife.

She was living with Miscavige, who fixed her up with Brennan. Kyle despised Scientology because he had seen it deform his father over the previous eight years turning him into an embezzler and probable arsonist. He resisted every attempt by Scientologists to handle him.

Brennan ended up accusing Victoria of trying to kill Kyle with psychiatry and said his psychiatrist would publish his records on the internet.

Kyle said that only an idiot would believe anything L. Ron Hubbard had to say. He later overhead Brennan and his girl friend call him "a Suppressive Person [SP]" and "an Enemy of the Church of Scientology." Later that day Brennan threatened Kyle with physical violence and Kyle fled home after having lived exclusively among Scientologists for the previous three weeks.

Miscavige and Brennan lied under oath and denied knowing about Kyle's seeing a psychiatrist and taking medication and what happened during Kyle’s first visit to Clearwater.

Six months later in February 2007 Kyle stopped off in Clearwater to visit his father on his way home from a two-month trip visiting schools in Iowa, Brennan's sisters in San Diego, and a vacation in Maui.

He arrived late on Wednesday, February 7, 2007. Since Brennan had failed to handle Kyle six months earlier he tried again by buying vitamins (Scientology's replacement for psychiatric medications), which Kyle refused to take.

On Sunday, February 11, Brennan went to Miscavige's home to make her lunch and she attempted to "handle" Victoria into putting Kyle in a drug rehab program run by Scientology's Narconon drug rehab front group at Narconon Arrowhead in Oklahoma, where Miscavige had sent her daughter who had an addiction to drugs.

Comment - Part Two of Three:

Victoria was incensed that Miscavige, whom she had never met, would dare to interfere with Kyle's treatment.

Miscavige and Brennan lied under oath about the time, place, and content of this conversation.

About three days before Kyle's death Brennan discovered that Kyle had called the FBI, and Kyle refused to tell him why.

Kyle was actually calling the FBI to get them to investigate Brennan for embezzlement and arson. He hoped they would succeed and put Brennan in prison where he would be out of the hands of Scientology, which was progressively degrading him in Kyle’s eyes.

The day before Kyle’s death Brennan seized his anti-depressant and locked it in the trunk of his car. He lied under oath and said that Kyle hated the medication and voluntarily gave it to him.

Kyle would never have surrendered his medication to anyone let alone Brennan because it helped him, and he was well aware that Scientology is an anti-psychiatry hate group.

Brennan arranged to have the Britton home flooded with anti-psychiatry hate literature from Scientology six months earlier right after he discovered Kyle was in the care of a psychiatrist.

Kyle was shot through the head in Brennan’s apartment around 11:00 pm on the night of Friday, February 16, 2007. He was just 20 years old.

Brennan told his Kyle’s brother Scott less than 24 hours after Kyle’s death that he came home around 10:30 pm after having dinner with friends. Subsequently he lied under oath and changed his story and said that he went to Miscavige’s home at 11:00 pm to borrow a book and came home at 11:15 pm and found Kyle dead.

He did not call 911 to report Kyle’s death until shortly before midnight and then only after calling Miscavige. He was alone with his son’s dead body for anywhere from 45 minutes up to an hour before calling the police. If Kyle’s death was murder this was adequate time to tamper with evidence.

Miscavige and her husband appeared at the apartment within minutes of the arrival of police. They both lied under oath saying that only her husband went to the apartment. There is also evidence that they both were at the apartment before Kyle the police arrived.

Scientology’s intelligence agency the Office of Special Affairs (OSA) is in charge of all Scientology lawsuits. They propagated the story that Kyle was “severely disturbed” when he was nothing of the sort; and that he had committed suicide and that the Church of Scientology had nothing to do with his death.

Detective Stephen Bohling of the Clearwater Police Department investigated Kyle’s death for two years and attempted to keep the investigation open beyond the statute of limitations for filing a wrongful death suit on the flimsiest of excuses.

Kyle’s family was forced to seek the help of members of Congress to compel him to close the investigation so they could file suit.

Detective Stephen Bohling lied repeatedly in his report, and his lies all support the OSA narrative. He falsified Kyle’s diagnosis from his psychiatrist turning him from a mild depressive into an “incipient Schizophrenic with early signs of delusions and paranoia.”

He proceeded to systematically lie about reports on Kyle’s psychological condition from nearly everyone who had seen Kyle in the two and a half months before his death including an FBI Special Agent in Iowa, his aunts, the Maui Police, and Kyle’s mother.

Detective Bohling never bothered to even visit the apartment where Kyle was killed. The bullet that killed him was not found nor his finger prints on his father’s .357 Magnum found near his body nor on three notes found at the scene including two stuffed into his pockets.

When these notes were shown to Victoria, her husband, and Kyle’s oldest brother, not one of them recognized the handwriting as belonging to Kyle. These were in all likelihood forged and planted on Kyle after he was shot in the head.

Medical Examiner Marti Scholl from Tampa’s Hillsborough Country was working side by side with the police at the apartment.

She falsely declared the manner of Kyle’s death to be suicide saying the police “told her there was a suicide note” which apparently she did not ask to see to verify for herself when she was at the apartment. There was no suicide note.

The police did not contact Kyle’s mother as next of kin to provide information on his medical history and religious background. These were most likely provided by OSA.

When a Britton family member asked Scholl who provided Kyle’s information she did not answer, but said that she “did not want to get police officers in trouble.”

Comment - Part Three of Three:

The wrongful-death suit was heard by US Federal Court Judge Stephen Merry. He ought to be furious since he was deceived by Detective Bohling, Medical Examiner Marty Scholl, Denise Miscavige, and Tom Brennan.

In his order for summary judgment in December 2012 Judge Merryday wrote, “ Assuming that Kyle’s father and others are liars, Scientology’s responsibility is possible, but this theoretical and remote possibility is unsupported by evidence or any reasonable and direct inference from the evidence. “

Judge Merryday ought to fire his law clerk because the multiple lies and obstruction of justice are quite evident when one studies the depositions in this case, which have only been publicly available since February of last year.

This information has been in the hands of the Justice Department, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Governor’s Office for quite some time now, and none of them have had the courage to act.

To be absolutely clear, there exists substantial and plausible evidence that Kyle Brennan was murdered and his death covered up to look like suicide to protect the name of Miscavige from being involved in a Public Relations flap of the greatest magnitude.

All the Britton family needs at this point is a lawyer willing to take on corruption in the police department and in Scientology. One hopes this new criminal affair with Denise Miscavige will give law enforcement watch dogs new impetus.

Hats off to Tom Tobin and the Tampa Bay Times for continuing to expose Scientology corruption.

I think this is almost certainly the case. However, as 10oriocookies suggests she probably would have demanded to be paid in blunts.

I wonder how a person such as Denise Gentile sleeps at night with the vast knowledge she carries day in and day out. Then I look at her picture. Even if Denise Gentile were not the twin sister of scientology cult leader David Miscavige,I'd say that picture speaks volumes.

The mental bile she must suppress on a daily basis must trouble her. That which she worships ( Cult of Scientology) appears to not have quelled her troubled thoughts. Three husbands do not appear to have fulfilled her desires to be happy. Status within her chosen religion does not appear to make her happy.

Now how does one with so much on her troubled mind cope? Weed and alcohol. A predictable outcome for someone troubled and unhappy. In of themselves, weed and alcohol can be a way to relax.Yet it appears Denise Gentile is way past recreational use.

She is running. Running away from her conscience.

I would imagine just being the sister of Tiny Fists would be enough to drive someone to drink.

At one point in my life I spent several months reading Alcoholic Anonymous literature and going to many 12-Step meetings of various kinds.

Many Alcoholic Anonymous people I heard speak at meetings regarded being cited for Driving Under the Influence of alcohol to be a sure fire sign that you are an alcoholic.

For some it was a DUI conviction that was the point at which they "bottomed out" and the turning point in their lives at which they were ready to begin recovery.

Not all people who are cited for DUI are alcoholics for example a young college student who has had too much to drink at a kegger and hasn't yet learned moderate social drinking.

I think it more likely than not that Denise Miscavige is an alcoholic.

She was very, very drunk when she was arrested at 7:00 in the evening on January 22, 2013.

Because of her alcoholism she could have killed people in the ambulance she nearly ran in to.

It is the citation for failing to yield (to the ambulance) that I find more significant than the DUI itself or the possession of marijuana, which is basically an artifact of current legislation, which is falling in state legislatures across the country as society has grown toward the conviction that marijuana is greatly less harmful than alcohol.

^^^^ Denise only had only about 4 drinks in her. Her BAC as .11-.12  ( 50% above the .08 limit for driving.  With her weight of 156 lbs as shown here http://florida.mugshotsdatabase.com/1084816/denise-gentile-mug-shot/
you can see on the woman's chart below, that at the 160 level of weight her level .11-.12 makes her between 4-5 drinks which is not legally intoxicated or significantly impaired.

You can have significant impairment at that BAC level in reflexes, reaction time, gross motor control etc.

See the BAC chart here:

Another factor which may or may not play a part, is her tolerance to alcohol. If she is an alcoholic, she may have had a high tolerance to alcohol in her youth. High tolerance later gives way to low, to no tolerance, for the alcoholic and suddenly, it doesn't take very much to get drunk.

Pure speculation here, because I have no idea about her drinking history.
