June 12, 2010 Post Game

Because some of us started to do different things at different times, I was going to do a June 2010 Activism thread. But then I figured that anything else another anon did that was worth reporting on would deserve its own thread.

Keep in mind that as I did this, I was originally prepared for very hot weather. However, there's this thing known as the Missouri climate, where a 20% chance of rain becomes a horrible, dangerous thunderstorm. So like any zealous madman, I decided to acquire some temporary rain gear and protest anyway.

The rest of my report is quoted from WWP:

Quote
When I got close, I held up my (mostly) waterproof sign that read Scientology: The Rich Man's "Religion" on the front and Salvation Does Not Have A Price TAG! on the back. After I crossed Main St., I ended up on the side of the street with the Org. Before I crossed over to the usual gathering spot, an older man passing by on that side shouted something. I didn't hear clearly what he said, but it sounded like words of support.

I stayed until noon, getting soaking wet while doing my solo raid, which lasted a good half hour or more. There were about three or four, maybe more, honks from cars, lots of thumbs up, a smile, and a friendly wave. What's interesting is that the windows had no curtains up and they never came up. No handlers or even scilons peering from the windows. Did they even see me coming?

Oh, and I did see what I thought was another anon. But it was just a man covering his face with a bandana.

30 seconds after I left, anonsoulless showed up. My guess is that Never joined anonsoulless at 1 pm as she said she would, for she reported nicer weather.

manly man mentioned that he probably wouldn't make it that day. If he does anything else, you folks may hear about it.

As much as I tried to make my sign waterproof, it will be the second sign to join my 'ruined sign' collection. You can see the first one in my last report.

Monsoon protesting: now that takes dedication, RSW. :) Thanks!

We had several protests in the rain. Now we are going straight to the scorching stuff.

 Good job!

So far, all three protests I have been to have been in rainy, miserable weather. I still have faith that better days are coming.  :)

Yup. I've experienced sweaty-sweltering (too hot for an Epic Ferret Guy appearance more than once), several rainy protests, several freezing cold protests. The rainy ones are, if not the worst, probably on a par with those that make you risk heat prostration. Electronics for music don't like it, signs don't like it, foot traffic doesn't like it, and wet Anons may or may not turn into Gremlins when moistened, exposed to bright light, and fed after midnight.
